There was a ticking in my engine.

Hey guys,

I just have my top end torn apart by the dealer as we were hearing a valve ticketing. Ran just fine, but made the ticking noise.

Just got is back and they replaced two intake valves, #2 and #4 i think and then replace the push rods and lifters on 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Everyone was surprised that I ave having any issues with the 5.7.

All cover under warranty so it was not a big deal to me.

Not sure what part was actually at fault, that was not written on the invoice.

Yes it is a 2009, has just over 9K on it. It did not have the noise till just a few weeks ago.

The 2009's have the variable valve timing I believe so it is a somewhat different motor from the previous 5.7L Hemi's. You can't use the lack of issues on the older motor to judge the new one.

Just wanted to add that this was clearly a stuck lifter or something similar. Once the shop replaced the parts as mentioned, this resolved the issue and it sounds like a sewing machine again.
