UGH- love hate relationship. Car wont start.

Sooo, went to get gas on Saturday. Got back in the car and it would start. Wont click, turnover, anything.. just silence. The bottom dash lights would flicker, stereo would turn on and off.. kinda seemed like the electrical system took on a mind of its own. When the tow truck got there he tried to jump it and it clicked but wouldnt start. When he removed all the jumper cables... back to silence when trying to start. So, that beotch got towed back to my house and has been sitting there since. Any ideas? Its just out of warranty so i dont want to get it all the way to a mechanic and it be a simple fix.

welcome to the forums and sorry to hear of the issue your having...check engine light come on?? do you have any trouble codes in the EVIC??

Its weird... no lights will stay on.. Just a few of the dash lights at the bottom of the panel flicker on and off... but no one light stays on. At first the navigation screen and stereo would come on but the door locks wouldn't lock or unlock and the automatic seats wont move. After i got it towed to my house nothing works at all.

Pull the battery out & have it tested, its probably shot. The jump that the tow truck guy gave you was just enough to power up the electronics, but not start the car. When the batteries go on these cars, they just quit with no or few warnings.

Our cars don't do jack with a gone battery (jumpers or not)

Well sheeeit. Im hoping its the battery then. I have a mechanic friend swing by tonight to check it out. Keep your fingers crossed. For my sake!

When you finally get her started, check that the alternator is kicking out power.
This is really easy with a volt meter..
On the battery, Check the voltage before start, you should see around 13v
When the engine is running, you should see this increase to around 14.5v
