Exclamation Problem - Going over bumps ABS/Brake light blinks

Here is my problem. I have a 2005 300c with about 70k miles. When I go over bumps or rough road especially at highway speeds, the brake light, abs light, and the esp bas light all blink on for a few seconds and when that happens all the interior lights and gauges go out. The Nav radio screen goes dark, the rpms and speedometer drop to 0 and the fuel to E, but then all go back on after a couple of seconds, during this the car is still running fine, very weird if you ask me. Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what it might be or even anything I can check.

Thanks

You can check for codes using the "key dance" procedure. If a code is shown, it may indicate the source of the problem. It sure sounds like a bad connection somewhere in the electronics.

sounds like a loose connection to me too. I had a similar problem and I finally fixed it by making sure my positive battery terminal under the hood had a good connection.

One more place to check that happens, and to me also:

Check the wheel nut holding the half shafts in for looseness. The big one.. I think its 32mm right off hand. SOmetimes they come loose, especially the left side, and the half shaft moves enough to throw the lights you have

Could be any one of the above suggestions, but I imagine the code you'd get would be "wheel speed sensor" as Mr I alluded to.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked the codes but nothing came up. I guess they dont store the codes in memory for the ABS and Brake lights. I will check the battery terminals just for the heck of it but my guess is the wheel speed sensor like others have stated. Otherwise off to the dealer for a screwin'. Thanks again

I would try to jack up the rear and see if you can hand turn the big "bearing" nut before they charge you your arm at the dealer. Just a suggestion.. might be an easy fix that costs you 500 bucks at the dealer

Yeah, I was surprised the left side was a right hand thread when I tightened it up. Mine was so loose that I did about 10 turns by hand before I got the socket out...
