My car wont pass inspection because...

...the machine they hook it up to keeps saying "Car Not Ready" ... Both of my air bag lights are on...Can this be the cause of it??? If I bought a Predator, will I be able to use it even though the inspection machine cant read my vehicle?? Im in PA by the way...is there anyone in the NJ PA NY area with a starscan tool who can reset my airbag lights?? I will pay someone!! Its a pain in the "hole" to keep bribing my inspection guy

by the way, i tried the "steering wheel method" and that doesnt work

Well airbag lights generally are caused by seat calibration needs to be done if the light in the middle of the dash is on you might have a shot seat weight sensor

well the question is, WHY are your airbag lights on?

had the seats out recently? if you did then you need to have the passenger seat OCS system reset/calibrated at a dealer.

since you have a 2005 you may also be victim to the famed steering harness problem, where-in the airbag connections become detached from the harness because the harness it too short for the telescoping steering wheel (there is a harness extension to resolve the issue)

either way I think you are dealer bound, and no the predator doesn't have any airbag system options, it's a performance tool, not a electronics fix-all

you only pay the diagnostic fees if you choose not the have the vehicle repaired there, since you have and issue and only a dealer can repair the OCS, there is no aftermarket service for it, the diagnostic fees will get swallowed into the repair cost..

if you are lucky it is simply a calibration which is about 1 hour labor or around $100

if the harness, module, or sensors are bad, it could be upwards of $1000
