300c Possible Valve or Piston Problem

My brother has a 2005 300c 5.7l...he recently overheated the car due to a rotted hose. Shorlty after the car started making a loud sound and stopped running. We removed the spark plugs and tried to turn the crank and it goes only so far and then becomes locked. What does this sound like? Welcome all help, Thanks

Depends on how healthy the block and heads are. I have been beating my 5.7L to death but it won't quit. When it does, I will rebuild into the 6.4L

You can get the heads to a shop to examine for any kind of warping or cracking that might have occurred.

You can also stick with your 5.7L platform quite easily because over a million 5.7L have been built out there. You could search for used ones on e-bay, or look at suppliers like Street & Performance (479-394-5711) that sells long block 5.7L motors for around $2500.

I'd go with a motor swap, Its the cheapest way to go, unless you plan on rebuilding or modding. If you lived near me, I would highly recommend a shop beside my work. The guy is amazing and builds the best quality rebuilds I've ever seen.
