Sunglasses Holder is Broken?

2005 300c, 115K miles. Love the car.

Small problem compared to many, i guess, but last night, i went to open the sunglass holder just behind the front map lights, and it would not open. I thought the access card that I keep in there had slipped behind it again, but there was something else wrong. I was able to get the door open a bit, and when I pulled it thte rest of the way open, it made a terrible ratcheting noise.

I tried to align it and close it, but it kept sticking closed, and I am afraid the plastic gears on the opening mechanism can't take any more.

The problem seems to boil down to the driver's side pivot. The passenger side seems to be engaged in a hole and seems to be working correctly.

On the drivers side, I can see what appears to be the pin it should pivot on, but I do not see any hole for the pin to engage in, and the driver's side of the door can move in about 1/4 inch circle. When closed, the door is obviously not alighned correctly.

I can't tell anything more without taking it apart, and I am not sure how to take anything apart. The whole plastic light/garage opener/sunglass holder seems to be a single piece of trim that SHOULD pop out, but I have broken enough interiror trim clips in my day to not take anything for granted.

Anyone point me to an online exploded diagram of the area? I would not mind replacing anything that is kaput, but I would rather not just start pulling it apart without some idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

Long shot, but I figured I would check here first.
