I ordered a Magnesium C with everything available on June 29. I just got off the phone with DCX and my status is D with a build date of Sept. 25. The build date has been pushed back three times already and at this point I don't expect I'll ever see the car.

Just got off the phone with DC and was told that I am now in BG status due to a restriction on the sunroof. Dc stated that the restriction should be lifted in October and a build date would be issued then. I ordered a black C with all options except smokers and wood trim.

Saw a dealer here with three Cs yesterday. He was selling at "just under" sticker...One had aftermarket sunroof installed by the dealer with all the other options. The sunroof looked just like factory to me. If sunroof was still the hold up, maybe you could go that route.

I'm going to guess here but any one that order in July and after will wait 16+ weeks.
Here are the facts:
1. Most dealers have more orders than they have allocation.
2. DCX has underestimated the popularity of this car (47%) are ordered with the Hemi they figured 30%.
3. The back log is growing faster than they can build the car.
Your only saving grace I can see; if your dealer has allocation this will bump you up in production.
That is the trend I'm seeing right now.

This point is the most ludacris thing DC can do. If that is really the hold up then just increase the darn allocation Chrysler. Why should allocation play a role in processing ordered cars????

If I understand this right. Chrysler is saying to the dealer "We know you sold 20 cars in August but we only thought you would sell 5 sooo were not going to give you ANY because we thought your competitor dealer down the road would sell 30 and we built them all for him" Thats just GOOFY!!!!

the allocation based on the prior year sales for the same model or similar model. If a dealer sold 30 cars and had allocation for 5 cars for that month, only 5 cars are accepted. Until that dealer has enough allocation will orders be filled.
