Cool Omg!

I called DCX around 9am and was told my 300C will be built any day now but the lady at DCX couldn't provide me with any further info due to computer probs, advised to check back later in the day. Ok well of course I called back around 4:30pm and O.M.G what a scare when I called to check on my 300C for the 2nd time today and was told the order was canceled and to contact my dealer right away because the guy at DCX couldn't explain why. I dam near had a heart attack. Well of course I called the Dealer and was relieved to find out something happened with the computers and some orders got canceled but problem was fixed and they are back in the system. Now what is really a mystery to me is that I have a different VIN assigned because of it. Sounds real fishy to me but my faith is strong. So I don't know what to expect anymore with this order. I just want my HEMI like Right NOW!!!

Ditto here.
Called today and was told car was built yesterday and I should call back Monday or Tuesday with a rail number.
This was a very nice surprise since I was told 5 days ago the scheduled build date had been moved from Aug 6 to Aug 17. So the original forecast was correct.
But then I was at the dealer later in the day getting an estimate for a possible trade-in and I showed up in G status. I think cars move so quickly through these stages, probably within 24 to 36 hours, that the online tracking system is always a few steps behind. Hope to be in KZM on Monday.

D1 Gateline schedule - scheduled to be built
E Frame
F Paint
G Trim
I Built not ok'd
J Built ok'd
JB Shipped to body vendor
JE Emission check
JS Shipped to storage
KZ Released by plant , invoiced
KZL Released - not shipped
KZM First rail departure

Unhappy

Joey,

Congrats on finally getting really close to driving your new C. Just one question. What color is your new car? My dealer says they build them in color batches, and my satin jade C that has been in D status for almost 6 weeks should be built soon. He says they are building Magnesium color ones right now. Please tell me yours is Magnesium.

i'm pretty sure your dealer is incorrect. The employees on the brampton factory site were asked the same question. They replied all colors are mixed together. With each car the paint robots are flushed and refilled with the new color.

CJ300's right. No batch processing. There's a post on the Brampton site about them running black for a complete shift on Friday due to a problem in the paint facility. I guess some of those who ordered black just got bumped up in line.

No offense to you, but do you know how stupid your dealer sounds making statements like this? How in the world would he know they were doing magnesium today and some other color tomorrow? Honestly, some of these dealers/salespeople will tell someone anything just to appease them during their wait.

Swarick, yes mine is also magnesium.
I have the same understanding of the production process as CJ300 and JonW posted. If you are in D you should be optimistic that you will moved to D1 soon. They have increased the work day to 9 hours and it seems a lot of others in D and D1 have noticed movement in their orders.

I ordered my Bright Silver Metallic 300C on 10 July. My salesman just called today with the VIN number for my 300C, and it has been upgraded to D status. I may have it by the second week in September. If not, I will certainly have it in time to go on my annual fall follage color cruise in southern Ohio, the third week of October. Excitement rising. Can't wait.

My 300C was ordered with all options except for Moonroof, Uconnect or satillite radio. For me the nav system is a must option to get. It is useful even when not under active navigation. The new 300C nav system is easier to use than the touch-screen system of my Lincoln LS V8. It has more navigation features and does more to monitor the vehicles other systems.
