Zoomers and Resonance

I had the annoying resonance that was said to be caused by the stock exhaust system. When I upgraded to Zoomers, I thought it would solve the problem.

Has anyone else experieinced the vibration and then upgraded to a custom exhaust? If so, what was your result? If you still had the resonance, how did you get it fixed? I am thinking that maybe parts from the opld exhaust may have been used in mounting the new, and are still causing a problem.

Thanks for any help.

The 55-58mph resonance was corrected with a spring nut. With an aftmkt exhaust all of the defective area is removed so you must have a different problem. I had the spring nut done and completely cured the 55-58mph resonance, had Zoomers put on still no resonance, removed Zoomers (too loud) and back to stock, all is well. I am suprised you can hear any resonance with all the noise the Zoomers makes. Zoomers is supposed to be resonance free. Was your stock resonance at 55-58mph? If not, you may have the water in the tranny issue which gives vibration at nearly all speeds.

Hmm, you say I shouldn't "hear" the resonance? The resonance I have is a harsh vibration of the entire car at, before exhaust mod, around 55-60, and after zoomers, anywhere from 40-60. If, when it happenes, I can downshift, it stops. I always though my problem was with the exhaust, but if you say that it shouldnt be "audible" above the Zommers, then i beleive i have a different problem. I shall see the dealer soon...

300CGuy nailed it, I was the first(not proudly) to remove my Zoomers because of the MDS loudness and also tone which I stated in other posts. I did not call it resonance but that's semantics, call it drone, resonance, racket, or noise, the tonal change in addition to the loudness was a problem for me. In 4 cly mode it sounds like a 1983 Civic with a hole in the muffler puttering along.

No, i have no problem with noise of any kind. What i have a problem with is a shake of the car. I am going to ask the dealership what they think.
