Timing chain

I have 2010 chysler 300c timing chain broke 37000 miles has qanyone had trouble and how did Chrysler handle it.?

I don't recall having heard of anyone having that problem.
What powertrain warranty does the 2010 come with? If greater than 37K miles Chrysler should take care of it if you are the original owner.

Don't mean to dig this one up but I too have a 2010 300c and my timing chain just broke. It's at the dealer now and they are examine the extent of the damage done. It has roughly 36,700 miles...

Did you have anything done to your car? Exhaust, intake, tuner? Would you say you drive it hard ?

Never heard one break on a stock motor.. only time i hear of it is when someone does a cam change.. see if they can upgrade you to a 6.1 unit . much better.

Only got a catback and LMI intake and InTune on there. No camshaft.
Doubt Chrysler would go for that although it would be nice. Didn't think the 6.1 would mate up in an stock AWD drivetrain.

i have an 07 srt8
56k miles and i have leaks sipping through my timing cover, needs a gasket and also i have a bad water pump
dealer said its gonna be $1113.14 for timing cover gasket, water pump, stat, and coolant

crazyyyyy expensive mofos

He was talking about the 6.1L timing chain set, not the entire engine...

These are not typical failures on stock motors. As stated above they usually occur with an aftermarket cam. I would be cautious about over revving a 5.7 with a tuner/raised rev limits as it is not cammed for high rpm anyway, it's a torque monster stock.

Stealership would be my LAST choice to work on my engine, but if it's a warranted failure then you have little choice...
