Once I get my car, I will be modding the holder and plan on making a printable template to just tape to your holder and trim to the marks... but i'm still 7-10 days off from the car, so i'll keep you posted

JUST got my C and asked the dealer NOT to put them on the front. I was so glad I did b/c they cover up the grill. So, now I will have to figure out a way to put it on that is tasteful and not drilled. 415, if you figure this one out, PLEASE keep us in the loop. I'd appreciate it.

No front plate for me, had it written up in sales contract. I also don't have one on my CTS, had it removed and repainted bumper.
I made up a holder for the CTS. I use it for Airport, sport events etc. places I know the police do give out tickets. It's easy to put on and off, lift hood stick screws through lower grille and fasten/unfasten.
Haven't made one up for 300C yet, just lazy.

Although I still have paper plates for the 'time being', I'll be removing my front plate bracket tomorrow...when I figure-out how to do it! I've already checked and I'm one of those fortunate enough where the dealer didn't drill through my 300's front fascia. The front plate bracket appears just to be simply hooked onto the bottom of the front grill via a pair of 'stout' plastic clips and nothing more; however, accessing these clips may be quite a task, as there's really no room to get to them easily.

At first, I was thinking about just modifying the bracket like the above E&G example. I'd then reposition it between the bottom of the front fascia and the bottom of the front grill, and then maybe affix it using 3M automotive emblem tape. Drilling holes through the front fascia is without a doubt a sin! More than likely, I'll probably just go with Fast300C's idea and just simply modify the bracket so that it can be hung temporarily from the bottom of the front grill (in its original location).

Update: I still haven't figured out exactly how to access those two clips (lack of room to get to them). Anybody have any ideas?

Before I retired (Anaheim P.D.)I was the leader of the "No Front License Plate Squad." Just kidding.

Here are some pics of my C with the plate. While I always thought cars look better without a front plate, I sometimes think the 300 may actually look better with the lowered plate. When I have seen 300's pass me on the road without the front plate they looked liked something was missing. The wide open space on the bumper caught my attention, so I think I actually prefer the plate. The plate seems to fill in the big empty space. But then I see pic's of 300's without the plate and it doesn't look unusual. But if the law didn't require the plate I probably wouldn't have it on. I just don't want to give the law an excuse to pull me over.

joey,

I actually think that looks pretty good. After 'mulling it over' a bit, I decided to just go ahead and just place my plate in the same spot...via 3M tape. Thanks for the pics...

I still haven't figured out exactly how to access those two clips which attach the front license plate bracket to the bottom of the grill...too hard to access them. Can somebody please advise as to how to accomplish this without having to remove the entire front grill assembly?

remove the plate so that you only have the holder there. then you have these 2 giant holes that seem to lead back to nowhere. that hole is where the "brakets" are that attach to the grille. if you look into the grill from above you can see where the frame holder is attached, and the holes are the way to get them off. Possible you have something differnet because its touring, but i would highly doubt it.

Here is a pic Wanna"c" posted in another thread.
My plate holder was never installed, so I didn't have to remove it.
It appears you could slip a long screw driver in between the bracket clip and grill, and pop the holder off.
