SoCal 300 Meet - Time to do it again!

We were able to manage a small gathering back in early September - 4 cars & 6 members. A Gathering for 300/300C owners There were also additional members that expressed interest but were unable to attend.

Since then, the forum membership here has really exploded and multiple people have expressed interest in another meet. I would like to propose a date around Feb. 19-21 (Sat, Sun or Monday). Monday is Presidents day and many folks may have the day off. If that is not the case, maybe Saturday or Sunday. Let's see if we can get some interest for this by tossing around some dates. Any feedback on these dates is appreciated.

I think for a location we should wait until we see where the respondents are coming from. Last time we met in South OC. I'm all for OC, but maybe we need to look at Long Beach, the So. Bay or somewhere else that is in the middle of LA/OC. A site that includes some good food choices always gets my attention.

Maybe I'll even bring some door prizes like last time! (for those that were in attendance - they all liked what they got - something to add to their reference library)

Let's see if we can get something going! All comments welcome.

I've read many of the threads here and finally signed on. I would be interested in getting together as well to admire and maybe borrow an idea or two for mine. I'm down in SD so let me know the time and place.

I'd be up for Sat. I'd say some where in the Long Beach area. This would be a good centeralized spot for both LA and OC members.

Joe, I know a guy at Orange Coast that treated me real good. His Name is Jonothon Gray. He tried his hardest to find me my car but I was too picky. Anyway, he was real good to me and willing to sell for sticker.

Hi fellas,
I too live in the OC and wouldn't mind a meeting. Name a place and time. My guy sold me mine below sticker only because that was the second one I bought within a month. His name is Ken Floss out of Tuttle Click in Irvine. As for a meeting place, I'd like to go to a place that offers food and adult bevs. Perhaps the Spectrum, Block of Orange or anywhere. I don't really care. So far I'm the sixth to respond so I take it that hopefully we'll have at least six 300's there?

Name the time and spot!

I ready willing and able. I'm sure there is better places to meet, but I always see cars meets at three places in L.A., one is Friscos its in Downey, CA. its a okay hamburger place with a mature crowed and nice girls riding around on roller skates.

Also one of the only original Mc Donald's left in America is in Downey isn't a bad place either. A lot car peeps meet there.

And maybe the best spot of all, darn I forget the name but I can find out have you guys ever seen the movie "what's love got to do with it"? Its the movie about Ike & Tina Turner. Anyway the part of the movie where Ike gets pissed at Tina and pushes a whole pie in her face and they get all crazy, at the place that scene was filmed people with sweet cars meet all the time. There is a PT cuiser club that meets there, I swear I seen like 35 PT's there once. Anyway let me know if you guys are interested, I'll find out the name of that place, its also in Downey!

It looks like we're up to about 10 people interested. Let's set a firm date - Saturday February 19th.

I've talked with Ira Emus, the SoCal distributor for Zaino, and he is willing to come out and chat with us and give some pointers on detailing techniques.

Keep the location suggestions coming.

- Jon

I just thought of something! What if we meet at a bowling alley? They usually have bars and simple food, and I'm not much of a bowler but if people want they can bowl, have a few beers and fries and bowl the night away.

There are tons of bowling alleys, and It would be best to meet on a day that wasn't too busy (I know Saturday's are the best day because people have weekends off but its also the busiest day at any gathering spot, which means no room for 20+ 300C's)

If anyone thinks that's a good Idea, then start naming bowling alleys that have a bar and serves food.

Question

OOOOOOO! I just thought of something else, Fudrucker's! They serve drinks and burgers. Plus its like a fun car place. I think there's one in Buena Park off of Beach Blvd. near Knott's Berry Farm. That would be an easy spot for people to meet, near Knott's and its in the middle of the OC and LA. Maybe?
