Cruise on the 20th from HB to NP

Hey all,
I've been waiting on ideas and so far the 19th sounds good for most. How about a meet which was suggested in Huntington Beach for lunch and then cruise to New Port. Please post replies if your in for this event. I will try my best to get other local shops to participate. So far to avoid problems with church events, 2-3pm sounds like a good time. Please post comments.

The 19th is a Saturday. Do you mean the 20th?

Cruising from HB to NB isn't very far. I was thinking we would do something like meeting in LB, cruise to HB for lunch, then continue on to NB. Probably a 2 hour time span.

LB to HB, 20-30 minutes.
HB for lunch, 60 minutes.
HB to NB, 20-30 minutes.
Beers in NB .... could be hours....

I think JonW said in the other post - and I agree w/ him - there isn't much in between Santa Monica and Long Beach. Long Beach to Huntington Beach, however, is right on the coast.

I'll be game for a cruise night farther south if we can something like Santa Monica to Westlake Village next time around. I wonder if West Oaks Chrysler would be intersted in having us stop there for a while. They could promote it to potential buyers and we could have a decent place to stop. There's also tons of food places right there too. Heck, maybe West Oaks would give us some food...

Anyway, if anyone fromt he valley area wants to get together before going down and do a mini-cruise to the meet we should do that.

I'll do some scoping of routes up North in the mean time.

Good catch JonW,
I have heard many ideas and so far a local small cruise seems to be the most agreed idea. So the cruise will take place on the 20th Sunday. JonW and I will be meeting this weekend to discuss ideas on actual locations. He is the Socal rep for the club so I'd be honered to sit with him and decide the final locations. We will keep all of your concerns in mind when deciding the final locations. The only thing that we, Socal members, so far agree upon is the date of the 20th Sunday. JonW and I will give you an update as to the starting place and time. Most likely the time will be around 2pm. If there are other concerns that we've missed, please post them so that we can consider them. Thanks for making this forum the best.

what about a cruise from santa monica to malibu? then we could eat up at Neptunes. and right above neptunes is a great photo op place as well as numerous spots along the coast. most of the drive is right on the coast. (if i remember correctly) i did this drive with a bunch of guys when i was part of Maxima.org. i'm sure we'll get a lot more looks! just an idea.

Brian,
I use to drive PCH all the time and the area around Malbu is actually kinda far from the beach. There's a bunch of shops and stuff between the road and the ocean. The area around HB offers the most with regards to the view of the ocean. Plus there are plenty of great places to meet and take shots there as well.

turbo, I live right up Kanan from Malibu, and the only place that PCH really gets away from the ocean is at Point Dume, and that's only for a few miles, after that it's PCH, beach, ocean right next to each other. Take a look: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=malibu...0.467004&hl=en

I think what Brian and I are saying is that we'd love to join up with you guys, but not if we're always looking at driving down to HB for each one. I'm sure I can find a good route through some of the roads closer to us, especially through the hills. I know Kanan is always a fun drive for me. And there's a particular wayside that I know would be spectacular for photos.

We just want this to be easy for everyone, if not always, at least sometimes.

I'm with you 3TnP. I'll look forward to the next one in someone else's backyard. That's part of the fun - going somewhere new and checking out the scenery.
