SRT8 Owners in North Phoenix or Scottsdale HELP!?

Hello all, my name is Paul, I have been a member for exactly 2 years. I started with a 300C Cool Vanilla and graduated about a month ago to a 2006 SRT8. I have added some Flowmaster 50 Series Mufflers, and also a AFE Stage 2 Intake.

I am not feeling good about the SRT, and I am hoping or thinking there is something wrong with it. I had it in to the dealer, they did the TSB on the brakes, and also said the tranny SSB has been done. It just doesn't feel that much better than my C.

I was hoping there is something wrong with it, or was I just expecting too much? I was hoping to find a SRT8 owner that was willing to drive mine for a minute and tell me what you think. I live on the 101 and Raintree Basically, and I work on the 101 and 19th ave. I would be willing to drive to meet!

Is it just me? I hope not... I expected more from this car.

OMG, if you let Dan Realtor or Moose have at it you might get a car back with bald tires, exhaust cutouts, and some drifting "blemishes".....

Have you tried the fuse-pull or the battery disconnect procedures? S'posed to 'reset' whatever the car has 'learned' from any grandmotherly driving style. Do a quick search, see what you think. Just an idea.

And if all else fails, I'm sure I can 'find' myself conveniently on your side o' town to offer my seat o' the pants perspective. Hell, if the wife lets me have the keys I might bring my SRT8 for a comparison.

I was kidding about Dan. And Moose, for that matter.

Either one of them has forgotten more about these cars than I'll ever know. Shoot 'em a PM.

And no improvement after the fuse/battery tricks? I wonder what the deal is. Maybe you are expecting too much, car should be a mid- to low-thirteen second 2-ton rocket.

I might also suggest a visit to either "Mike" at Arizona Power & Sound, or Dave at Xtreme Motorsports if you think it might need 'professional' attention. Both shops are experienced with these Hemi LX's.

...oh, I almost forgot, if you're sending out "help me" PMs, send one to Meister, he's on my side of town, but when he speaks....E.F. Hutton listens.

Let me first say it was my pleasure to meet Meister and have him drive my 2006 SRT8. I owe him a big thank you for responding to my PM and taking time out of his evening for me and sharing his years of auto knowledge. I'm not home yet to give our full review but I will say this my SRT gave a very bad test drive... Let's just say I'm not the only one that thinks my SRT is a baby kitten and no where the tiger I thought it should be. I'm happy though to know its not me expecting too much of her.

Our numbers and findings will be posted when I get home!!!!!

Many of you may have read my posts about how unhappy I am with my SRT that I just recently got. Here is the link...

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt...heir-srt8.html

OK, here is what we found. He and I both feel at start up it doesn't sound even the slightest bit angry.

When Meister Started my car for the first time, I was actually behind it, and realized that there is not much pressure out of the tail pipes. I put my hand down and noticed very little air flow (I had a AFE stage 2 installed, and 2.75" cat back tube exhaust with Flowmaster 50 Series Mufflers and the stock resonators).

Next when Meister driving, we noticed BOGGING heavily and very poor acceleration. He asked me to try to get a reading for 0-60 times, and with 2 people a full tank of gas, and no tire spin we were at over 7 seconds. Actually 7.2 checked on my cell phone stop watch which was very easy to use...

Even with the ESP off, Meister could not even get one revolution of tire spin, and again heavy bogging and retarded timing. We went back to the house, and we checked the timing. Looked like at 2000 rpm to 2500 we were roughly at 26 to 28 adv. (Meisters C was like 36-38 and similar RPM range).

We also found the CAT temperature to be at almost 1600 degrees compared to his C after heavy tire spinning beating to be around 1150-1200 degrees or so. There were no codes suggesting any problems, and I explained that the dealer I took the car to last week said the TSB for the tranny had been done.

We have some ideas as to the problem or at least places to start. First the timing is way low, and running way too rich. Second something is wrong with the Cats. Either they are bad from the factory or something. Or there is something wrong in the exhaust.

Anyone have thoughts or input on this issue? Again I am super happy to realize its not just me, and there is a problem and when fixed it will feel way better I hope.

By the way, on the same stretch of road, same driver, same 2 people in the car, Meisters C ran a 4.9 0-60 mph and that was nearly 3 seconds faster than my SRT. His car of so sweet sounding with the Corsas... MMMMMMM I love those things. Wheel spin is not a problem with his C, I mean it is a problem, I mean damn that thing is QUICKCKCKCKCKCKCKC. I would certainly give lots of cash, to get my SRT to feel close to his C DID I JUST SAY THAT?

LOL HELP ME SOME MORE...
