First post-cruise post

Well actually I'm still at the cruise. The pizza place, Main St. Pizza has a free wireless connection. More to come when I get home. I came late so I don't have as many, but I got the first!

What an evening!!!

I cannot even tell you how cool tonight was...
I don't even know where to start...
How about pulling into the Hooter's parking lot and saying to myself...
I think we are a little outnumbered tonight...
there were a baker's dozen of Magnum's staged already in every color, model and mod possible...
THESE CARS ROCKED!!!
Then Jketron and I arrive in the 300C SRT-8's...
of course,
his is blown...
and got ALL THE GOOGLE EYES...
then several more 300C's...
ok, we might not be outnumbered 3 to 1...
then more Magnum's...
then a couple of C's...
we must have had 18-19 cars there alone...
we all (mostly) stayed together, stopped at Pep Boys to regroup...
took some pics...
got the people that got held up by red lights...
and cruised to the show...
and then staged just off of the meet...
and lined them up waiting for VIP Editon and his posse...
Guys and Gals - it was worth the wait!!!
what a couple of nice rides...
and more 300C's to boot!!!
so now we are only outnumbered 2 to 1...
and then there is the Charger...
what a ride and what a great guy who owns it (names left out to protect the innocent - as I don't know his nic)...
and then all the Magnums cruise into together...
right down MAIN ST. Garden Grove...
let's just say it was a way to make an entrance...
and the C's followed and got held up a bit by guys needing change...
hehehe
we staged in our own parking lot and everyone just kinda milled around...
introduced themselves to each other and checked each other's rides out...
and then off to eat...
the pizza was great even with the pineapple!
and it was time to check the "other" cars...
some nice rides...
but as far as a group, there were no others...
and if there was they wouldn't have even come close to the style that our group showed in their cars and their behavior...
heck Jketron didn't even light em' up when he and I left...
much to probably most people's dismay...
kids in the back seat will do that to you...
and Hemeee decided to show with her hubby after traveling along the moving parking lot on the 5 freeway...
It was great to meet the "Queen of the board"!!!
I can't say enough of the people I met and the pride in each and everyone's car that was showed...
KUDOS FATCHANCE and TMAGNUM!!!
WELL DONE!!!
oh, and the 5 south through Pendleton was 10-30 mph...
took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get home...
but it was WORTH IT!!!

Good job organizing fatchance!

Hey Chris, it was good to meet you. For those wondering, no I didn't smack him after all. That long and winding road sure didn't hurt your beautiful car.
Good to meet you as well jketron, thanks for letting me peek under your hood. That's quite a 'king kong' ya got there!
Loved both of your beautiful SRT8's.

I had some laffs with a few of the Magnum guys, Tmagnum, LtlDad and blackcomb, and really look forward to them joining us again.

There are a few of us that show up over and over again and it's always a great reunion; fatchance of course, JonW, 300TourningNproud, six7one, VIPedition, toothdoc...
I have a great idea, how 'bout let's do it again!!

My 2-1/2 hour drive down was hell, and I didn't get home till after 11pm, but I'll say this...
We sure know how to dress up a parking lot!
What a sight!!

fatchance, let's talk some more about our ideas for the next meet...

Gauging interest: I have been talking with the director at Irwindale speedway about doing their new website in trade for having QM strip for one night. All of us SoCaler - 300 and magnum guys meet and SAFTELY race each other with time slips and all on their quarter mile strip!! I think that could be fun. We'll see if it pans out.
If it doesnt pan out, I will check to see if they or others have a open car night. We can all pay our $20. or whatever and do the same thing.
Ohh, and the viper guys can keep their butts at home that night!
Id love to see just how bad one of us 300C guys lose to the SRT-8 Supercharged cars.
just an idea.

just edited.. I created a new thread in the south west forum.
Southern Cal meet idea. Wanna RACE?!?!? = )

That was another great meet, and the opportunity to get a look at some of the other members ride - especially that beast jketron is rolling in - was inspirational to say the least. I always love hanging out with such a fun group of people. The Magnum guys were super cool and I'm so glad they were there and hope our groups can continue to do meets together.

HEMEEE, six7one, JonW, toothdoc and son, cbutler, jketron, it was a pleasure to hang out. And of course, fatchance, THANK YOU!!

I got a chance to see and hear JonW's Aux input module at work and I was even more impressed with his talent and the units perfomance than I expected. He was even brainstorming on features as he was showing it to me... look for good things to come from him. The unit sounds great, even with a completely stock system, and is super easy to use. It integrates very well into the system.

six7one has made some very cool changes since the last time I saw his ride. The airbags looked sick as usual and his paint-matched mesh grill was subtle but slick. Then he fired up his Zoomers, and I did this --> . Now there's no way I'd do anything but the Zoomers. It sounded strong without being obnoxious or showy.

Then there's jketron. You just about made me give up on any kind of performance mods. Sheesh! But kudos to you for being a pioneer. A crazy one, but a pioneer none the less. Too bad we didn't get a chance to hear it open up. Another, kid-less, time.

Can't wait until the next time! Hopefully somewhere a little closer to home. 3 hours on the 5 to get there and 1 1/2 hours home was a little much.
