While I understand protecting intellectual property, but we enthusiasts here really wish you guys would NOT do what you're saying and purposely making it difficult. We just wanna have a little fun making our vehicles go fast. Sharing like GM and Ford would be a great thing for all of us. I'm so disappointed DCX sees it differently. I appreciate your candidness, but you must realize many many Mopar enthusiasts want what I'm asking for.
Thanks for sitting here with us tonight. It is much appreciated, even if we don't always get the answer we want.
We will continue to do a perfect job and try to save you some money.
Our Job is to delight you with new products.
And I am not sure GM and Ford are sharing their code. it may just be easier to tweek.
Are you kidding me? If it was me out there I would be doing the same thing - making my car go faster and having fun. But we see many times folks taking their cars too far, and then expecting us to cover the damage. That is the reality unfortunately. Our cars are at the highest level and rest assured we will keep raising the bar and when it comes from us you know we have crossed the t's and dotted the i's!!

It really depends on how hard you run the car.
Certainly, a 5W30 Mobil 1 would work just fine.
If you are racing it in the summer time at 100'F, I would run 15W50 Mobil 1 .
If you purchased the car new, run the production oil for the first 3000 like miles and then change it. I would at least use it for the first 500 miles as there are special addetives in production which allow a proper brake-in.
What's your opinion on running 0W40 in an SRT4? There has been a very reputable source recommending 0W40 for the SRT4 on srtforums.com... Any thoughts on what goes with running 0W40 on an SRT4?
It did get rid of the hard starting problems
Currently, the MAP sensor connector is not available as a repair part for the SRT4. Sorry.
I understand that, but I would be more than willing to chase down a Delphi, Tyco, Wago, etc... distributor and buy the part directly from a distributor. I just figured that the part(s) have to come from somewhere/somebody's catalog
You would have to put the full HID system on the car. You would need the lamps, ballast, etc... This is not a package that we offer through Mopar or the factory.

What oil do you recommend for the SRT8's? Actually that's an inside joke around here. Mention the word oil here and all hell breaks out!
Rambit
The SRT8 engines were designed and developed on 0W40 Mobil 1 oil.
This oil does reduce windage and is better at running high internal temperatures for long periods of time without breaking down. The 0 portion of the oil specification helps starting higher compression engines at low temperatures.
Synthetic oils also help reduce friction and improve fuel economy.

Well we do want to keep our I's dotted and T's crossed with modifications that have the blessing of Mother Mopar and when we do something stupid we want to own up to that and just know Mopar will help us to resolve it and not turn us away. Perhaps if you marketed more "stuff" like with the SRT-4 then we could stay on the straight and narrow. I feel bad having to resort to unsupported hacks and reverse engineered mods, but if that's all that's available, what we are to do. Gotta go fast right?
