First I would like to say I am thoroughly enjoying the SRT-8. Previously I owned a Jaguar which was starting to act up electrically, so I decided to get out of it and into something else. I am not looking back. Now for my question; It has to do with the breaks and whether Chrysler is going to send out a recall notice to owners of the SRT-8 or whether we are going to have to hound dealers for fixing the breaks on warrenty service. I know that there is a TSB forthcoming, but I don't know how the mechanics of this will work nor what will be done, only that "something is in the works". What will be done and whether it will compromise the excellant performance of the breaking system, albeit it' rapid wear characteristics.
I understand that, but I would be more than willing to chase down a Delphi, Tyco, Wago, etc... distributor and buy the part directly from a distributor. I just figured that the part(s) have to come from somewhere/somebody's catalog
Actually, the MAP connectors are DaimlerChrysler licensed parts. Currently, only DCX suppliers have access to these parts. In due course, our Dealer Technical Operations group releases service kits for connectors. Unfortunately, the MAP connector has yet to be released. Sorry.
Well we do want to keep our I's dotted and T's crossed with modifications that have the blessing of Mother Mopar and when we do something stupid we want to own up to that and just know Mopar will help us to resolve it and not turn us away. Perhaps if you marketed more "stuff" like with the SRT-4 then we could stay on the straight and narrow. I feel bad having to resort to unsupported hacks and reverse engineered mods, but if that's all that's available, what we are to do. Gotta go fast right?
On a brighter note, my 2005 300C and 1999 300M are the best two cars I've ever owned (I guess Motor Trend knows something when they hand out those awards). Thanks for everyone in engineering for producing these great cars. Happy holidays and thanks again for chatting with us and letting me beat my dead horse for awhile.

AW shucks!
Well, I'm trying to make a little 'at the track' part for my SRT4, so I can disconnect the MAPsensor and plug in this extension with a map clamp on it. I have a wideband with PC adapter so I can properly tune it, but how can I make a removable map clamp? I would rather not drive with it all the time... I like the safety you guys built into the S2 AFR's

Ugh. Can't help you with the MAP clamp. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED.
About the three mode ESP, can you give us a value for its limits? As I recall, the normal off is %80 off, %20 on, what is the value for the full off?
About transmissions, it appears that all SRT-8s made after sometime in June/July are equipped with transmissions made in Germany, what is the reason for this?
I know this is geared toward Q&A, however, a few members asked if you would consider checking out their "wish list" when you have a few moments... Here is the thread, and most of the "wishes" were condensed into this single post; not all SRT-specific, but definitely LX-specific.
Thanks again guys for making yourselves available to us at all, but especially during stocking-filling season, and Happy New Year!!
