I was wondering if you could elaborate on the reasons that the rear backup sensors were left off the 300C SRT Design Group? Also, is there any other information you'd like to share about the SRT Design Group? Maybe things we should be aware of when modding these cars specifically? Did the SRT team actually work on the performance aspects of the package, or is it more of a marketing/badging statement? Thanks in advance!
The Design Group isn't an SRT vehicle. You're right, it's a regular 300C with an appearance package and we didn't have input into its content or performance aspects. (They just used some of our pieces.) Since it's a regular 300C, that also means it's got a 5.7L instead of the 6.1L so we can't address modding the engine-- all we know about is the 6.1!
Have your marketing guys ever thought of selling an SRT8 childs car seat?

The Charger SRT8 has 25% stiffer springs than the 300 SRT8. They have the same 30mm front and 15mm rear swaybars. The Charger and 300 SRT8s have different shock valving front and rear. You can now tell people that, JMatt, unlike at IRP a couple of years ago . The Magnum SRT8 uses Charger SRT8 spring rates, but a taller rear spring due to the extra weight. The Magnum has its own rear shock valving, but uses the same Charger front shocks and springs.
The cop cars, I think, have pretty much the same spring rates as the 5.7L Charger. They use taller springs so the ride height is correct when loaded with cop gear, cops, and perps. The cop cars have a unique 18mm rear swaybar. Cop car wheels are super heavy and don't clear the front brakes on an SRT8.
LOL!!!! Hello Erich! You told me 10%......
Never hear the official word, although I figure it's been available knowledge for quite some time.
Who's going to be taking care of warranty on parts made by MB (trans) after Chrysler gets dumped to Cerebrus....with the way dc is taking care of its customers now I worry we'll all be working on our own cars soon...
One of the latest "mod" rages is the installation of an "oil catch can" for the "reduction of oil into the intake manifold". Here are a couple of pics of an installation in a Grand Cherokee SRT8:
Are the belly pans under the 300SRT8 engine area for aerodynamics, sound insulation or to keep the engine bay clean or perhaps a combo of all of the above? I'm thinking of taking them off for the summer months to facilitate engine cooling but if I'll be doing more harm than good by changing airflow then I'll them 'em on. Keep up the good work George 2007 300SRT8
Was there any thought to releasing a newer TCM code modification that would allow for the shorter shift from 1-2 and not the removal of the autostick shift lockout feature?
Could those two features be seperated in the TCM code?
The features can be separated but there is no plan to do so (maybe Mopar is listening?). The amount of complaints we received from customers hitting the rev limiter in 1st convinced us this is the correct course of action for the vehicle.
Quite a few SRT8 owners have, or are planning to, change the location of the IAT sensor. Evidentally they feel that you guys did not put it in the "ideal" location. Can you give us the scoop on the benefits, if any, and the drawbacks if any, of relocating the sensor?
The IAT location is a compromise between many different factors. Since the calibration is performed after the sensor locations are determined, moving the sensor could have an adverse affect on engine control. I would not recommend moving it.
