is there anything i can do get this fixed? i bought it with 7700 miles on it

any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks again

The silver brake caliper paint turns gold when the brakes have gotten super hot. The previous owner must have had it on a racetrack at some point. We bet the rotors aren't scored from not using the brakes hard enough!

At what voltage levels will we or should be expect to see timing knock retard in the knock sensors ?

There are reason why we are data logging this stuff, those of up modding our cars are trying to not break things.

Thanks for the info on the SRT Sprinsg and Shocks! Great stuff....

Can you confirm that using 15w-50 Mobil 1 in warmer weather is acceptable
in the Jeep SRT8? I know a TSB came out about using this oil in the LX
cars to combat the oil squirter noise but just want to confirm it's also OK
in the Jeep before I switch. Also, from your perspective, what are the
advantages/disadvantages to using 15w-50 over 0w-40?

There is no problem running 15W50 , in fact it is emission certified. And If you were truely racing the vehicle , it is the only oil Mobil would recommend.

Bull Run

Are you supporting the Blown Charger SRT8 in Bull Run,upcoming season, not current season. There are pics of the car on a trailer with your logo on it.

Sorry, we do not understand SM.
let's try this again.

"API also defines the industry standard for the energy conservation of motor oil. SM is the latest specification to which motor oils should adhere since 2004."

my owner's manual indicates: Use API rated SL/CF full synthetic engine oil. SAE 0W-40 is recommended.

i'm just wondering under the latest SM spec, is Mobil 0W40 still recommended eventhough Mobil 0W40 under the SL specs is known to be different than Mobil 0W40 under the SM specs.

Thanks, Mobil 0W40 will continue to be the US recommended OIL , I say US, because Mobil will be shifting to 5W40 on Mercedes products.

You can't just look at voltage, the frequency and other engine specific signature information is fed into a custom DSP chip that interprets the data and determines knock (hence the PhD comment). The values shift with rpm and engine load also so there is not single specific value, or even table of values, that will answer your question.

Ok, I'm the pioneer of the coolant filter install to combat this white gunk coolant issue.

Here is a photo of the first filter after 3 days installed.

In simply plumbed a Napa 4019/4070 Coolant Filter System in the feed to the coolant bottle.

I've flushed and filled and have my third filter on now in 2 weeks. I used Zerex G-05 Coolant and the Zerex Additive suggested. The system appears better for now with no/little smell.

Any further suggestions? What causes this? This is not normal.

So if the rear rotors are scored, should the dealer be replacing them when doing the TSB? I realize the rotors are not part of the TSB but is the scoring covered under the normal warranty? Thanks for addressing the rear squeal by the way!

Regarding the Jeep SRT8 rear brake TSB, is there a mileage cap? My 2006 Jeep SRT8 was purchased 11 months ago and has 13,500 miles. The rear squeal began at 8,500 miles and has not stopped since.
