Ok, my question has to do with the knock sensors.

While the following is a graph from an 5.7 we are seeing the same differnace between the #1 and #2 knock sensors on the 6.1's as well. The question would be :

#1 - Is more noise on one side vs the other normal ? Or are we seeing variance on the sensors ?

#2 - If its normal to see that differnace in bank to bank noise is that differnace programed into the advance/retard tables to account for the additional noise ?

#3 - At what point are we going to see knock retard vs voltage in the knock sensors ?

and

These are from 2 differnt cars just a FYI, and thanks for you time

-Robert

SRT engineers:
Thanks again for such a great car!
1.) If you can, please share glory stories of the LX-SRT8's during testing. Durability and design, any particular kills before the car was released...etc.
2.) If you can, what do you guys drive? - i.e. - actually paying for, not work related.
3.) I had my coolant flushed out at 2000 miles...currently at 9000, it's definitely clear now and smells like what I would call a mild mix of ammonia, and the rubbery smell of air being released from a semi innertube. Would you(if you can answer):
-leave as is?
-leave and add recommended additive?
-flush again?
-flush again and add additive?
-do a burnout

Eric

Ok all the Grand Cherokee SRT8 owners finally got the TSB for the squeeling brakes and all it is....drumroll..... just the rear pad replacement ??? Alot of us have squeeling on the front pads too and what about the scoring already done to the rotors ?? Why are we getting a weaker TSB fix for our brakes than the lx ( with all rotor replacement ) ? Especially considering the GC is heavier than the lx and puts more strain on the braking system.

How do the spring rates and sway bars differ between the 300C SRT-8 and the Charger SRT-8?

How do the police package pieces compare with the two above?

A couple of SRT8 owners have installed a NAPA coolant filter, to filter out the
mysterious white substance. Upon cutting open the filter, it is filled with the
white goo. Would this filter put backpressure on the water pump? I suppose you could tell if the coolant flow was slowing too much, as the coolant temperature would rise. But would this devise harm the water pump?

SRT8 IN PHOENIX (120 DEGREE SUMMER DAYS)

I JUST GOT MY SRT8 (BONE STOCK)
HAVE DRIVEN IT AROUND IN 104 DEGREES LAST COUPLE DAYS.
STAYS 204 - 210 WHEN MOVING AND GETS UP TO 225-230 AT STOPS.
THIS IS WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING RUNNING.

1.) SHOULD I INSTALL A LOWER TEMP THERMOSTAT FOR THE UPCOMING SUMMER? (WHEN THE A/C IS NOT AN OPTION)
OR IS THERE ANOTHER OPTION YOU WOULD RECOMMEND?

2.) ADDITIONALLY, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPROACH A DEALER ABOUT TSBs?

THANKS FOR ENGINEERING SUCH A GREAT MACHINE. HAVEN'T HAD THIS MUCH FUN SINCE MY GRAND NATIONAL GOT STOLEN.

Hello SRT engineers,

I was wondering if you could elaborate on the reasons that the rear backup sensors were left off the 300C SRT Design Group? Also, is there any other information you'd like to share about the SRT Design Group? Maybe things we should be aware of when modding these cars specifically? Did the SRT team actually work on the performance aspects of the package, or is it more of a marketing/badging statement? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

Heres my monthly question.

It was prompted by a discussion with an LEO (law enforcement officer) over at LXforums. Question in two parts, short form, yes or no answer, long form if you can/will share any tech details short of actual numbers/values, which I know you cannot.

1. Does HAL ever stop attempting to recover the vehicle from a spin?

2. Meaning, is there a point in the software where ESP just flat gives up? While discussing the suitability of the Charger to perform a PIT maneuver, it occured to me that PITing a vehicle with ESP (either as the car being stopped, or the one trying to stop the bad guys) might just lead to behavior never briefed to LEOs in the course of EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course)

EDIT, SRTEngineers are now in-thread, welcome.

Hi Guys-

Thanks for an awesome automobile. I just returned home from an oddessy that began with a new 300C SRT-8 in November and covered 18,000 miles of Mexico, the US and Canada, including laps at California Speedway.

Even did a Mexican high desert run of sustained 165 mph cruising with no issues. This is one tough, stout car!

I have installed KW-2's, Hotchkiss sways and a Quaife LSD.

My question is: On the 3 positon ESP switch in the Disabled positon, are all the stability brake interventions really turned off?
