Mopar currently offers a performance TCM for 5.7L LX applications. (P5153332) Sorry, I can't discuss any future applications.

Thanks for your time and expertise...
We do spend time trying to find the best location for cold air as we realize it creates the best POWER. One needs to also protect for snow packing, water crossing events and poorly located birds.

The little air that you might be stealing will not affect cooling flow unless it is 25% of the cooling flow and you are flat out accross the desert.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Thanks for making fun to drive cars, and hosting these chat sessions.

Question,

What's the stock stall speed for the Jeep SRT? Is the converter any different than the other LX cars, or models that use the same transmission?

Thanks and keep up the good work!!

Can you give us a ballpark on cost? I really dislike the way my Daytona shifts.

As Car and Driver says, the dive planes did not make it on the Challenger. I think the Motor Trend site has some pictures of mules at the track with some prototype dive planes on.

I have also driven other Jeep SRT8s they shift very much closer to 6K than mine. What controls when the Trans. will shift at WOT. Thanks for the SRTs they are great I've owned 4 so far and still have 2 of them, Thanks again.

I'm assuming you're referring only to the first gear shift point. Shift points have evolved over the years, largely due to feedback received during these webchats. There were some complaints in 2005/2006 that there were inconsistent 1-2 shifts with occasional engine "bogging" following the shift. What you may be seeing is this change from vehicle to vehicle and year to year. The GC also accelerates faster than the LXs so tach lag is more pronounced on that application in first gear.

Thanks for building the GC SRT8 - I love it!

I've been having some success increasing the MPG in (rush hour traffic) by popping the trans into neutral down hills and when slowing for lights, etc.

Am I going to cause damage to the transfer case or transmission by doing this, or shorten its life noticably?

While this is not a strictly SRT engine question because I have also seen it in the 6.1 and 5.7.

But when datalogging the car using a a DashHawk or a Predator there have been rather consistant harmonic or knock in these cars at 3700-4500 ish rpm.

Is there a natural harmonic ( false knock ) in these motors in that range or is it real knock that seems to be rather presistant?

Not really much of a question here, but more of a customer feedback type thing. Dealers need to be better informed about certain SRT products. The Caliber SRT-4 for example there are so many salesmen at dealers telling people that the Caliber SRT-4 is AWD. Most of them never take the shock spacers out and don't even know they're there. This isn't just one particular dealer, its dealers all over the US.

You guys put out kick @ss products... Keep up the good work!
We have a Kick-butt Kicker system late to the gate (pun intended) for the Caliber SRT4. The early cars were lined up with a basic system with intent of having the Kicker system as the audio upgrade box you would check. Kicker is now available as the upgraded audio system.

The 8 channel amp is in the same place, and even looks identical to the R/T audio amp, but has Kicker guts in it.

No spare tire for SRT's, you get a can of inflator snot in it's place.

About the spring spacers.... dealer training and communication can be very s l o w at times. This is why we put hang tags on every mirror. A famous quote here at SRT, "Trust the dipstick in your engine, not the one at the dealer."
