Do you have an approximate "life expectancy" on the stock Bilstein shock package on the 2005 Ram SRT-10? At about what point in time or mileage should I look at replacing them?
Depends on how/where you drive but the monotube Bilstein's are very robust and you should see high mileage with the original shocks.

Sway Bar Sizes

There was some discussion on the factory LX sway bar sizes. I myself have stock SRT8 Suspension with the 19mm Police Rear and it is nice an neutral now.

The main question was about a year ago during an SRT Engineer Chat you guys turned me on to the bigger 19mm rear Police bar and told me that the front LX Police Bar and SRT8 Bar were both 30mm.

Now there are rumors that the front LX police bar is 32mm. Can you confirm or deny this?? I am thinking it might be the same part with two different part numbers. Also are the other size values correct in this listing below?

thanks

Factory Swaybar Sizes

R/T
Front = 27mm
Rear = 15mm

R/T with Road & Track
Front = 30mm
Rear = 15mm

SRT8
Front = 30mm
Rear = 15mm

Police Package
Front = 32mm???, P/N 4782544AB, Bushing (2 needed) P/N 4782684AB
Rear = 18mm, P/N 5180016AA, Bushing (2 needed) P/N 5180017AA

My question is this: where can I get MODE and PID and BIT information so I can get data through my OBD2 port. Specifically looking for transmission temperature and information about MDS.

Many aftermarket readers will get you data that is legislated that we provide. There is much more that we provide for our dealer tools to quickly and efficiently diagnose and repair our vehicles. The legislated stuff is available on the web (try google) but the Chrysler specific stuff is a well guarded secret. I know Trans temp is legislated but don't know about MDS off the top of my head (I'm an SRT engineer and we don't use MDS).

SRT Guys -

Well what I am looking at are the KS 1 & 2 and the Knock retard total so I am seeing .5 to 3.0 degrees of retard in that rpm range.

While I understand that the system involved is rather complex, KS is something any one that is beating on these cars watches lake a hawk given the rather brittle conctruction of the pistons, and while the predator and dawh hawk are not idle they give u some data to work with to try and work around making expensive booboo's

Hello SRT Team,

Although I have said it a million times, let me start by saying "I love my 2006 300c SRT8.".... Recognizing my objective to keep my car 100% Mopar, I have a few questions if I may:

1. Is there any pending TSB about changing the noisy bilstein shocks over washboarb roads isue?

2. I like others have encountered the loss of power when the motor is running at full operating temperature, particularly on hot days. I have heard SRT owners say they have switched to a 176 or 180 degree thermostat and possibly also altered the rad fan to turn-on earlier. Am I able to have an dealer swich my thermostat to a 176 or 180 degree thermostat without impacting the warranty. Is there an mopar/SRT accessory that will make the fan turn on at lower temps?

3) I have heard of owners getting more horsepower out of their motors using a diablo predator decive. Does using such a devivise void the warranty?

4) When I first start-up in the cold, my tranny feels like it is slipping. I have heard others say the same. My car is stored in the winter and will only be on the road in the spring. Will the dealer be able to find the problem in the warmer weather?

I have a mopar CAI and want to add a mopar cat-back exhaust, What would the total HP gain from the two items together.

Thanks a lot!!!

My other Question; Is it more fuel efficient to Keep the car in gear going down a hill ( I am assuming the engine does not use fuel when your foot is off the gas pedal???) or putting it in Neutral ( and the car uses fuel to idol ) and gaining momentum that being in gear would gobble up?

Thanks
Ben
This is for a Neon SRT4 I assume. Let the dealer do the typical system checks first, ie, be sure that the system is charged, no leaks, etc, etc. Also, the cycling of the compressor is controlled by the low pressure switch located by the firewall. You can unscrew it without draining the system, there is a valve behind it that won't let the freon leak out. If system checks out, then try changing that low pressure switch. All we can think of.

Q2. yes, idle speed will dump less fuel in your engine on a down hill instead of leaving it in gear. Mainly because your engine RPM will be lower.

Is there going to be a "SRT" engineer at the Irvine,CA Spring Fling event this Saturday? If so I will bringing my stock 2007 SRT8 Magnum rear brake pads that were worn out with a pretty heavy taper (IMHOP) after 12,500miles. If he/she cares to inspect them, not as a warranty item for myself but more to help you guys with future product development. And also since you guys commented that you hadn't seen severe pad taper wear.
