Several people have reported a rusty water accumulation problem in the hood on the Caliber SRT4
It seems that rainwater or carwarsh water may accumulate inside the hood and over time become rusty.
You can hear the rusty water gurgling as it drains when you first open the hood.
The result is a nasty rust stain on both fenders directly below the rear corners of the hood.
Have the engineers seen the problem before during testing of the SRT4?
Do the engineers have a recommendation about solving the problem?
For example, where we should drill holes to solve the problem?
got some caliber questions:
A) Are the stock sway bars the same in the 2008 and 2009 Srt-4?
B) What is the size of the front and rear stock sway bars on a 2009?
1. The exhaust valves are made out of inconel, but are the intake valves made of? (plain steel, natrium filled or not)
2. We know the overall camspec
intakecam: Lift:9.2 mm, duration: 219 degrees
exhaustcam: Lift:8.4, duration: 216.5
But whats the IVO, IVC, EVO, EVC at 0 degrees of the VVT?
3. is there a maintenance interval for the Cam-chain?
I am having an issue with the clear coat delaminating from 3 of my Brembo calipers.
I have a 2007 Charger SRT8. I have searched and found a few other guys/threads asking about this. I have taken it to the dealer 2 or 3 times now and they are "waiting to hear from Chrysler". I have started a thread on here about this very issue.
Hi.
Perhaps a little off-topic question but I know that many people discuss this topic very often and very long.
What is your advice regarding Superchargers? The market has a big offer (Techo, Whipple, STS, Vortech, ATI Procharger, ...) with different concepts (Roots Blower/ TwinScrew or Centrifugal).
My understanding is as long as you do not try to get the last HP out of the
setup with the 6.1 and a blower, keep the boost as low as possible (max of 4-5psi ~520HP)
and don't race your car every weekend it should be a durable setup.
What do you think? Is it a no go in a long term view because the engines will not survive the extra load or is it as long as you keep the boost low more or less save?
Big TwinScrew's do >7PSI but I suppose that's definitely too much if you want to drive your engine 100.000miles+
Question on behalf of dylzsrt who couldn't be here this evening:
Was just checkin out my car (2009 300C SRT8), and noticed my F1 supercar tires are 245's all the way around.I thought they came with 255 rears,245 fronts??
Is this a new thing or have I been had bad??
-----------
Bernie
You're good. The 255 rears are only on the Challenger.
Can't think of a question right now, but just a comment. I've been a Chrysler employee for just over 15 years and live by the saying "Buy what you build". I have an 08 Jeep SRT and it is without a doubt, the best and finest vehicle I have ever owned and driven.
SRT, keep up the great work.
Mike
