This is something I might be attending. I have put it on the calendar and will continue to evaluate as the date gets closer. Is anyone else considering attending this event?
The California Region will receive special incentives, to be announced later, for their participation in the event.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
So far the incentives are small and we aren't ready to publish them yet. As participation grows, especially from the California region, more will be released.
It's true that the 300C is not on the banner image. A lot of cars int he Mopar lineup are not on the banner image. This is addressed in the FAQ, except the Magnum is the vehicle in question there.
If you have, or can build, an image that we can use on the site, we will give it serious consideration. We aren't excuding any vehicles, or hiding them from view, they just aren't in the image right now.
Okay... now that I'm home form work and have more time....
I don't have the 300C images up in the site yet, we're working on the image formatting to keep the site clean and fast. You'll notice that the only vehicle pictures right now are the banner vehicles.
We are accepting submissions for a new row of cars for the main page banner. I've got one in Black and White that is really cool, but I'm hoping for color.
We're working on getting the infamous Onelap/Targa Newfoundland SRT-8 300C at the event in the VIP displays. The car has motorsports history and has had some pretty important people driving it.
There's a couple 300's that are currently being cleaned up for the SEMA show that will also be in the VIP display area. Ranging from full-on DUB to pure audio, these cars are worth the trip.
Outside of the Vendor Midway, the event gets a little faster. The High Performance Driving Education event, also known as a roadcourse trackday, is still open if you want to run a little faster than the local constables normally allow. The experienced track rats will have their own group, and the people who are looking for some instruction will have some of the best instructors in the country available. That's not just lip service, we'll have Brian Smith, Erich Heushele (SRT Engineer), Matt Hubbert, Enrique Ramirez, Greg Hagopian, and many others there to ride with you and teach you what you want to know.
Not everybody wants to carve corners and run at 135mph, but they do have a competitive fire. The Drag Racing events should appeal to everyone. If you're serious about the quarter-mile, we'll be running a quick-16 event under the lights on the pro-NHRA track. For those of us who just want to play around, there will be test-n-tune, grudge matches, and bracket racing. We'll have people there to help you if you've never done it before, Get Involved.
We're negotiating for a Drift exhibition, both the Presenting Sponsor, Kicker Audio, and Mopar sponsor a couple Drifters who we heard are pretty good, and if everything works out well, they'll shred some tires for us.
Speaking of tire shredding, don't miss the burnout contest, or any of the other free or mostly free activities.
If you're worried about bringing the kids, worry not. We'll have a place to park the kids with activities and qualified people while you go out and ruin some perfectly good tires. Just let us know how many kids you're bringing so we know how big of a display to tell the X-Box people to bring....
The carshow committee could use the help of a 300C person during the classifying and judging, if you'd like to help out, just let me know and I'll put you in touch with them.
Regards,
Dale
