I agree with the serious buyer thing too, that being said if you come in driving a car you bought from that dealer and ask to drive a newer model of the same car I would consider you a very "serious driver" and would treat you as such. Major brain fart on their part.

My local CJDR dealer is just like that. I've purchased four vehicles from them, including an SRT8, and I get the impression that it would be a situation where I'd have to beg for permission and the outcome may still not be a positive one.

They did let me sit inside a demo unit but did not offer a test drive.

You guys must look homelesss..serously don't buy from a dealer like that.

All the local dealer here in Des Moines insist on ride alongs, but you can drive whatever you want.....of course driving up and parking a nice trade in helps!

Ask ifu can drive a new diesel 1 ton, bet they will. These cars are not a crazy price. Pick up trucks are more then that and I'm sure they let any joe boy drive one of them. All it takes is one bad apple burnin off 800 bucks worth of rubber n a test drive to ruin it for everyone. I say cost of doing bussiness

Walk in with a brief case of money and see if they'll let you test drive one then .

I have a friend who works at a Chrysler dealership.. He pretty much told me the same thing... They do not want people driving their SRT8's...

Yes, these guys aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Common sense says go and talk to the boss in this kind of situation, and don't just regurgitate information about some stupid policy. My brother is probably getting either a Challenger or Charger SRT8 soon! I'll warn him about this place.

Still no test drive Ken? Damn man. Just buy one. You know you want too. Thats why they wouldn't let you test drive one. Figured you have a first gen. Just buy this one. LOL. They really don't feel that much different. Just more refined IMO.
