Start with a DiabloSport tuner (Predator, Trinity) and a 180* thermostat. These are by far the cheapest and best mods for the money you can do.
Also, the tuner can be sold when you are finished with it for decent money, and the thermostat costs less than $30. If you buy a used Predator (about $200), you are basically getting both of these mods for about $100, assuming you can sell the Predator when you are finished with it. Trinity will be more, but you probably don't need it anyway.
