SRT8-Specific General DiscussionGeneral Discussion specific to the SRT8 models. If your topic is not specific to the SRT8, please post it in the All Models Forums.
I have been back and forth between SRT8 Jeeps, Corvettes, and Mustangs. I borrowed a buddy's 300 SRT8 for 2 weeks a while back and really enjoyed it driving it. There is a local dealer that has a 2006 SRT8 with 37k miles on it and they want 20k for it. I am requesting your opinions on this regarding pricing and what would be a good deal. It is about to be winter time up here in NY so I am assuming they wouldn't mind getting rid of it soon. I am sure they will also tell me that they can't take much less as they have that much in it - typical dealer response. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
Link if you would like to take a look.
I did post this in another section but seemed to have been deleted. Hopefully this one stays.
Use KBB dot com for relevant local market info in your area. Don't forget to check trade in pricing as well as that will sort of give you an idea of what they have in it and then factor in around $600 - $800 in lot costs (clean, detail, paper, overhead) and take it from there.
In order to price the vehicle you need to know what option groups are on the car as well. As always, a CarFax and service history documentation are a must. Also, as with any used car, general condition must also be factored in.
Selected retail, with option groups I & II, with those miles. and in excellent condition; is $25,228 in my area.
You may already know this but you really, really need to do your homework on the vehicle, then be ready to suffer the slings and arrows of the dealer gasping and accusing you of trying to take food from their mouths by putting up an initial low offer. Ignore them and keep boring in. If you have a trade, you have two numbers to determine and track during negotiations. They love mixing the two together and you will lose sight of what they really are.
I am in the Albany area. I just looked at the carfax and noticed it had a car accident back in 2007, doesn't say the extent of the damage. It has been driven 25k miles since the accident, but I am a little weary of purchasing a vehicle with an accident on the fax. I also was looking at one in Mass but they have some weird rules when it comes to buying a car from them when you don't live there. I hear they won't issue temp tags, so I would have to go there, buy it, and bring paperwork to NY DMV and then go back and pick the car up.
One is MASS has 48k miles and they want 19k, no accident. Both have same mods nav, heated seats, memory seats, and one has the kicker deal in the trunk.
