Camshaft position sensor part number help

Hi, my 2006 SRT-8 occasionally cranks for a few seconds before it will start, and from reading this forum it seems to be suggested that the problem could be the camshaft position sensor.

Because I am in Australia and trying to find the correct part online, I have become a bit confused and am writing here to ask for some advice.

Rockauto lists the part as a KLARIUS/QUINTON HAZELL Part # XREV303

discountauto parts has two different models of sensor available for the same car.

A PC244T or PC244.

I have found one on ebay that seems to be the right part but they don't list the 2006 SRT-8 as being compatible.

Does anyone know which one will fit, or are they both the same?
Is the Standard Motor Products brand any different in quality to the KLARIUS/QUINTON HAZELL brand?

Thank you

OK, lots of views and no replies.

Perhaps I could rephrase my question.

Is there only one camshaft position sensor that fits.. or multiple parts that fit?
If the shop says it fits the SRT-8 - is it going to fit, or is there a chance it could be the wrong part.

Do I need to check with my dealer by providing my VIN, to get the right part number?

I just called Repco (parts shop) in Australia and they can sell me one for $106.
And this seems steep considering they sell for $20 in USA.

No doubt the dealer will charge over $200.

I looked at Rock Auto and they carry both the PC244T and PC244. It also says the PC244 is
the most poular item.

Ok... so mine is made by BWD and the number is CSS635. Not sure if that will help?

Thank you. So presumably either of these parts will fit?
I wonder why there are two different part numbers?

And both parts are a different price.

Yes that helps, but is also confusing.

The one you have looks different to the one sold by rockauto, and is also about $40 more expensive.

Well the picture in the link is the one in my car... I actually just swapped mine hoping to fix an issue... it was the crank sensor... so now I have a perfectly good used one! Lol... so I took a look at mine... that's it. Now... why so much more and why the different numbers... well manufacturers can have wide varieties of pricing and numbers!
