Hemis and Healeys

Hope this isn't too far off-topic, but if you're looking to test your SRT-8, watch out for this guy in a Hemi-powered Austin-Healey Sprite:

Or this guy, who just turned 10.65 @127mph on spray.

I just love big motors in little tiny cars.

I love these type of cars too, so long as they are well sorted, in the engineering department.

Even the factory can get it wrong. An example I am personally familiar with. I owned a national canadian shock absorber distributorship and got a special order
for a full set of gas externally adjustable shocks for a Sunbeam Tiger. they had to be specially manufactured. The hi performance shop that orderd them called a few weeks later, saying "no need to supply the shocks, the guy is dead. Due to stress cracks in his front suspension, he lost it at 90mph on a curve.

When done well they are giant-slayers.

I know it is not a Hemi but great car. It is my brother's car. Runs low 11's in the quarter. Hopes to break in the 10's soon.

The yellow Hemi Sprite is a very beautiful show car. My brother met the car and the owner at a Healey meet once. At the time the car had cooling problems. Couldn't idle and not overheat.

Yep. I love small cars with big motors too.

I had 1 1976 Monza with 300HP 305 and 1 1980 Monza w/ 400HP 327.

70GT6 - Any pics or vids of your car? Sounds interesting.

'Zilla - "When done badly, they're just slayers".

SteveWRX - Big props to your bro'. That is one sweet Healey!

Very nice! I'd rather push my Healey than drive a Triumph, but your car rocks, nonetheless. I love diversity. Old timey hot rods, sports cars, muscle cars, customs - they're all good. I'm even starting to like the ricers and low-riders. It's all part of the same brotherhood.

there is not much left that is Triumph other then the body. It now has Covette rear center w/ custom half shafts, 6-speed vette trans, Autometer vintage guages, I guess it is the body and mostly original interior. Car has about 10,000 original miles on the "Triumph" stuff, everything else in new.
