Strange Chris...my car was built May 13th and has the tire pressure system in it...very cool feature actually. Wish all my cars had that!

Its my understanding the Smart Beam allows both high and low beams to remain on at the same time. However, the high beam is reduced by up to 50% to accomodate on-coming traffic.

I read this was to be an 2006 feature??

A small camera lens mounted in the rearview mirror watches for on-coming traffic and will dim your high beams until it passes.

If you have it, select "Automatic High Beam System" within your EVIC. Check out page 105 in your 2006 owner's manual.

EVIC - Electronic Vehicle Information Center...the illuminated window between the Speedo and Tach. Don't worry, I have a new one from June and I didn't see this as an option. I find it just as easy to do it myself instead of letting the car do it anyway. Like the rain sensing windshield wipers, sometimes I have to inject some manual operation to feel like I'm really in control!
