Better Performance From An Oil Change ??

Took my 2006 300C SRT8 in for an oil change this weekend as I had 54,140 miles on the last and didn't want to void my extended warranty. I'm on schedule B, and the 140 miles was just within the 200 mile grace period.

At any rate, the car seemed more responsive and zippy after the oil change. Does that make any sense ? Or was it just a subjective feeling after months of excessive idling and short trip (11 mile) driving ?

This was a 3,140 mile oil change. The BT catch can was nearly full.

Does this make sense ? Or is it my imagination ?

Totally subjective unless they replaced a stock airfilter that was plugged.

No, it was just the oil and oil filter.

My seat of the pants dyno tells me there's a difference, and others have told me the same thing - just not on our cars.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Hey, if yer feelin' good then change it more often!!!

My car runs better if it is clean. I think it feels better after a good bath. I have no explanation as to why.

Seriously, I don't see how an oil change would help unless the oil had turned to sludge.

Any chance they did a battery disconnect? Your adaptives could have been reset.

Jon,

I don't think they pulled the battery cable, but this dealership has lots of our type of fans in their service department. I'll bet they either pulled fuse 11 or did the gas pedal thing.

I'm sure you hit on the right answer !
