SRT8 owners going to Laguna Seca.

Several of us new SRT8 owners were going to go over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 15th to participate in the "SRT Track Experience" that was included in the price of our new cars. But when we found out about a big LX platform Meet that same day in Huntington Beach, 4 out of 6 of us (one lived in LV anyway) decided to switch our reservations to Laguna Seca up in Monterey, CA. so we could attend the HB function.

So this is an open invitation to any new SRT8 owners, and others, to join in on the fun. We're going to do it on Saturday, November 19th. I have been in contact with the people running the event and have been assured that our GROUP will be able to participate together that day. Now if the GROUP gets too big we will have to break up into two GROUPs, but will all do it that same day.

And this is not limited to SRT owners either. If you are willing to pay the $300.00 fee, anyone can join in on the fun and be able to attend the driving classes and test drive all of the SRT vehicles that day.

I will be trying to find a hotel in the immediate area where we can stay together and, perhaps, host a "Meet-n-Greet" party on Friday the 18th. The Skip Barber people indicated that they may be able to have someone attend that function and give us a little overview and to mingle. I also may have a special guest appearance by "speckler" of the brampton assembly workers website there too but that is totally up in the air as of today. Ralph (speckler) e-mailed me yesterday and indicated that he may have a date conflict but was trying to work it out.

Anyway. That's the deal and we hope to have a bunch of lx and 300 forum members there to represent us. The sooner you make your reservations the better chance of joining the group.

Here is a link to their web site to register. www.srttrackexperience.com. Please e-mail me @ kking3@socal.rr.com if interested and I'll add you to my "SRT TRACK EXPERIENCE GROUP' and make sure you are kept apprized of what is going on.

Update

Just an update.

Since I made this post earlier this week here, and on several other SRT related forums, we now have 7 members confirmed and 2 or 3 waiting for confirmation that they will get delivery of their cars in time for the event. I will be contacting the Embassy Suites in Seaside, CA., which is just a few miles from Laguna Seca, tomorrow to see if I can negotiate a "group rate" for us and will post that info when it is confirmed. I really think that we'll have well over 10, and probably closer to 20, forum members signed up by November 19th.

This should be a lot of fun and probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most of us, to run on this legendary race track. Why not join us in the fun? The more the merrier!

X,
Just caught your reply. What track are you talking about? Or are you talking about the "street scene" up there?

As far as what we're doing, new SRT8 owners get one day with the Skip Barber Racing School included in the purchase price. Others can join in for $300.00. We have 8 - SRT8's going up to Laguna Seca so far. (track day is Sat. 19th) You get to drive all of the SRT cars. (Viper, 300C, SRT10 truck, SRT4, Magnum and hopefully the new Charger SRT8 too)

I just negotiated a Group Rate at the Embassy Suites for the 18th & 19th of Nov. and it is just a couple of miles from Laguna Seca.

If you or anyone else is interested in joining in the fun, e-mail me at the address above and I'll get you all the info.

Count Me In

Hell Yeah!

I spent all day 9/7 scorching the road course at Sears Point (aka Infineon ) Raceway in MY SRT-8. Best day ever. Laguna Seca is next on my list of DREAM Tracks to fly, um, I mean drive on. I spoke with someone who did the SRT Drving experience at another track, who told me all the DCX cars were speed limited at 120 mph (where my car shifts out of 3rd gear). At Sears Point I got my car on through the Jim Russell Schools "Performance Driving" class. Couldn't get over 110 mph on the twisty road course anyway. Any info on driving our cars on 11/19? Either way, I'm in. I'll follow the link and register ASAP. Me and "Woody" ('cause that's what happens to every guy who stares at her or drives in her) wouldn't miss it! We will be flying, um, I mean driving in from AZ. Anyone wanna play on the way????

I don't have an SRT8, but if anyone can attend, I may sign up for the November class. I'll need to talk to the wife. We have a special hotel in Monterey we always stay at, so I will need to see if we can get our usual room. I'll keep you posted when I know more.

X,
Drop me some more info regarding what time to cruise, etc. to my e-mail address in the first post of this tread and I'll see what the group thinks. Your buddy is more than welcome to join us. Have him e-mail me or just register for Nov. 19th on line and then e-mail me his name, reg#, phone contact# and I'll add him to our SRT Track Experience Group for further updates.

I plan on sponsoring a little Meet-N-Greet in my suite on Friday the 18th, but I'm sure everyone would love to cruise with the "locals" too. We can do this!

Look forward to meeting all of you in November.
