Kevlar Brake Pads No noise or dust

I had Todd at Les Schwab in Medford, Oregon (541) 779-3180 (South Pacific Highway location) make a custom set of brake pads for my SRT 8. He traced my existing pads and had the new ones in about a week! They were made out of Kevlar. I have little to no brake dust, and there is NO noise with them at all. They cost around $800 installed, but it was more than worth it. Braking feels the same as stock, but without the stares from people wondering what is wrong with my "new" car, when the brakes squealed!!

Have you tried them wet? I have tried the Kevlar pads in my motorcycle, and they are much quieter than the high metalic pads, but they can be scary when it gets wet. Braking distance were substancially increased.
I hope that you have a much better experience with yours.

custom made

wow! what a great idea if it works. Please get some miles and report back.

damn scary if it doesn't. Wait till one of those home made pads delaminates at speed one day. very exciting.

Model57, I have the same experience with a set I put on a GSX750 Suzuki. Did not make me very happy. I suspect these cars have WAY more clamping pressure which may compensate. Hpoefully Mr. Randazzle will give us more feedback. We need pioneers who publish their results, good or bad.

I still don't understand everyones fixation on brakes. Mine rarely squeal, stop like crazy, no fade, and produce gobs of dust. Just another opinion, but as long as they stop this sled like a rope I am very happy!

The brake pads are not experimental?!? I have about one thousand miles on them, I'm in Oregon so trust me we have a lot of rain and I've not seen or felt any difference in braking ability.
The brake squeal... not squeak in my car was unreal. My wife could hear it inside the house when
I pulled in the driveway. The brake dust to me was absolutely unacceptable!! I have custom wheels and the maintanence was a nightmare. I'll keep the forum up to date on the progress.

I had Carbotech do ceramic pads for my SRT8 and they are performing great. No noise, no dust and they cost $357 including shipping. I have about 1k on my pads and no problems. If I had the dealer install my pads it would probably have cost about the same ($800).
