A special thanks to Rambit...

...for defending the merits of the SRT8's, specifically the Grand Cherokee SRT-8, over at the Oddyzine boards. Your posts were very informative and professional, unlike many of the immature and rude responses from some of members there. Way to go!!

I have been following the blow by blow posts. I agree. Rambit is the man.

Well done RS on posting the link to that “other site.” Rambit did an excellent job of carrying on a mature discussion with a group that contains some obviously ignorant people. I can’t stand to read posts by people who are reactionary or just shoot from the hip and spout blanket statements. They obviously haven’t taken the time to read links to other posts or even read all of the previous posts completely. One of my favorite lines was Rambit’s response to someone who posted “ide personally just like the cayenne turbo because; its got a turbo, its a porsche and its interior is phenominal! Rambit stated “Go for it. At more than twice the price, they're not exactly throwing it in with the deal. Put some wheels on your living room if you're looking for a good interior ride.” Well done Sir Rambit- defender of all that are SRT!

Good job Rambit

You got many of the on side without stooping to a low level, some even seemed temporarily to gain about 20 years in maturity.

So just for you your very own RAMBIT

Exclamation It probably goes without saying, but....

Up until now the board involved in the invasion had not been revealed. Please help to maintain the respectful and mature image Rambit has portrayed of this board by NOT engaging in any type of retaliation or flame fest. I hope never to receive a message from another board's admin. like the one I had to send to them.

Thanks in advance!

Hehehe...can we flame them over here? frikkin euro-ricers

Just kidding...I dunno, they didn't seem particularly that more childish than the average GM forum...or a few of our own members, for that matter. I think the real difference between this forum and many others is the top-notch moderators we have who try to keep a lid on the flamewars and foul language. Of course...300s tend to appeal to a different crowd than goats, mustangs, and ricers.

Well done, Rambit!

What keeps this board one of the premier internet sites for automobile enthusiasts is the level of maturity shown here by the hundreds of members like Rambit that post here regularly.

The "other" board in question, is sadly, typical of many out there with its collection of mindless emotional retards.

This board takes a different approach - without trying to be elitist or stuffy. I think there are more good belly laughs to be had here than your average TV sit-com.

The difference here is simple - we treat each other with respect as human beings, even though we may have a difference of opinion on a particular subject.

The few who can't grasp that concept will quickly discover that they will be much more comfortable somewhere else in cyberspace.

Oops. I visited the Audi board from a link on a Jeep board thread that was discussing the trashing of the Jeep SRT8 by some of the folks on the Audi board. I ran into Rambit's replies and thought they stood out enough for him to at least get a pat on the back, hence my thread here. Until now I didn't realize that this was tied to the "invasion".

I don't think admin here will have to worry about immature retaliation from members on this board. Northern Rider summed it up well in his post above - "What keeps this board one of the premier internet sites for automobile enthusiasts is the level of maturity shown here by the hundreds of members like Rambit that post here regularly."

Wow RS, thanks for the compliments! I don't know if I deserve it, but I'll take it anyway! Yes that is the board involved in the invasion of the mindless from last week. When I joined that forum it was simply to make a post in the General Chit Chat forum to expose the perpertrators for what they were to their own members. The thread is called "To Forum Admins & Trolls...". I thought a title like that would get some attention, and it did. I tried very hard not to make it appear to be a flame which would have defeated my plan from the beginning, making me no better than them. Initially they thought I was a flamer, but that was quickly dispelled and I even got some thumbs up and some welcomes by more intelligent members. I even got at least 3 threads started about me by them, including "Rambit has a GF", referring to the instigator who is a snowboarding nurse in Tahoe (SBGirl). She had appologized earlier.

Some of the threads in that same forum related to the planning of the invasion and I found these to be interesting as they plotted amongst themselves. One of them suggested they use their Audi screen names so they would know who they were over here...not a good idea. Made my "job" a lot easier. I got a general inkling of the mentality level I would be dealing with and trust me it's still in diapers. Most find it impossible to express themselves without the use of profanity and can barely structure a sentence using more than four words. They are very high on the "Four Rings" of German engineering and have blinders on for anything American.

The trolls were posting along several threads giving themselves a pat on the back and having a great old time. Then one of them made a comment about DanRealtor's post with their addresses. They questioned the legality of it and I had the feeling they were starting to worry a little. One had Dan pegged to be a cop or something more sinister so I imagined they were thinking he was someone who had access to secret high tech equipment as it was mentioned he was at work using sofisticated information gathering tools. With the government's use of wiretapping in the news recently, I thought to myself...hey what about joining in on the fun and planting the seed of paranoia in their very own womb. I posted all sorts of gibberish like playing with pieces of copper wire, making "gizmos", microwaves, sat. dishes, electronic warfare and whatever I could think of. Some dared me to post their IP address and other "data" in a PM. I told them it would have to be in a post because I would feel dirty doing it in a PM. I told one of them I was reading his history and would post it shortly, but I wanted his permission first publically. He backed down telling me to PM it to him...fools.

I got everything from BS to them asking for information about themselves so I strung it out for as long as possible. You'd have to know how my mind works when I want to have fun. I would post things like I was checking their complete history since birth, bank accounts, driving records and tons of nonsense. I couldn't believe how they bought into it. The General Chit Chat forum is a place where misfits gather and pretty much anything goes. Posts don't count toward their totals and some are relegated to that one area. They even have forums on their own board that you can get banned from.

After a while this whole thing got to be boring so I decided to check out the legit areas like General Car Discussion. That's where I ran into the Jeep SRT thread. I couldn't believe the negative comments there from people who had no clue about this vehicle, not that I even do myself. Some were even from the same trolls involved in the invasion. I posted a couple of links that had reviews of the Jeep that I got from here somewhere. Most of the members there are anti everything when it comes to anything we like. I never once put down Audi's in any of my posts and I think some of them actually appreciated that. My avatar is even Audi, mainly because that's all there is available till you have a certain number of posts that allows you to upload your own.

So in summary, initially I had planned to just make the one post and leave, never to return. I found some of the replies interesting and before long I found myself looking for what they had to say in response. Kind of addicting and fun too, just like here. The world is full of morons, and to some the breeding ground is there. I personally don't think going over there to flame would be a good thing for any of us to do. If we did that we'd be no better than them. I just fell into something that I'm sure will get stale in a hurry for me and I'll move on. Someone has already started to flame in the Jeep thread and I only hope it's no one from here, worse yet being identified as someone from here. We should be known for belonging to a board with first class members. We dispatch the trolls and misfits long before they take up permanent residency here and start trouble because our admins are of top of everything (thanks Linda & Pat)...right Heather!!!
