SRT 8 availability

What is the current wait status on ordering one (including the Charger), are there many out on the lots waiting to be taken now (or are they still selling as soon as they hit the lot), or have all of them been built for this year already? Also, are they going for sticker, less than sticker, way more than sticker (like in Cali) or does it depend on where you are? I could travel for one if needed for a deal. If things go my way soon, I will be in the market for one. Thanks.

Availability

It seems that in areas with higher average incomes, the SRT-8's are still being gobbled up quick so demand still exceeds supply and consequently, prices are still above sticker. Here in beautiful, sunny, warm (gonna be 78 today, Hmmmm, should I go ride my 500cc two stroke dirt bike, or play golf today?) Scottsdale Arizona, they are still asking and getting 5 - 15k OVER sticker! I've seen posts about multiple SRT-8's sitting on lots in places like Detroit. Numerous members have traveled out of state (like CButler32 going to Michigan from San Diego!) to get their SRT-8 and avoid the wait and save some serious coin! Although production has increased, there are still only a few thousand of these bad boys on the road!

I went to a local Dodge dealership yesterday (make note bring bibs for all the salesmen next time, they always drool all around my 300c SRT-8) to see if they have a Loaded Magnum SRT-8 for my buddy Eddie. He went with me to the SRT TRack Experience (in Phoenix, and again at Laguna Seca 2 weeks later) and has visited the dealerships several times since, "Looking" (more like lurking or stalking) at the Magnum SRT-8's. They had one silver Magnum SRT-8 on the lot. Unfortunately it had option group 3 but not every option, and they want 5k over sticker. Eddie is determined to get a "Fully Loaded" (being my co-pilot in my fully loaded SRT-8 has ruined him) Magnum SRT-8 at or preferrably below sticker! I know he's close now as he has put the for sale sign in his QX4 and actually talked numbers and trade in value on his last visit.

The loxcal Chrysler dealership had a loaded 300C SRT-8, asked and got 15k over sticker! My knee jerk reaction to that is OUCH! But at the same time, I know that whoever got that car is driving a Bad Ass "Sedan" and wil get SOOOOO Much enjoyment out of it, what the hell's a few grand anyway. Here it is commonplace to see Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Bentleys, Rolls...... on a daily basis. I saw a sweet black Maserati "Sedan" parking in the movie theater parking lot last night. I hope to see him (without the Mrs, sorry) on the road sometime soon, so we can have some fun!

So anyway, in the longest most circuitous way possible, the answer is "Yes" they can be found. "Yes" you can save money by travelling to get one, and on by the way, "Hell Yes" they really are worth every penny and then some!

I hope for you that things "Go your way" so you can join the club! I bet if you met up with an SRT-8 owner and got a ride in one, or perhaps, got to drive one, you'd be hooked. I bought mine sight unseen, never saw one, never drove one, and OMG, I grin every day when I fire her up!

Good Luck,

Dan

PS If anyone could help me find a "Fully Loaded" (Option Groups 1, 2 &3, Kicker, Rear DVD...) Magnum SRT-8, for MSRP or below, please PM me. Location (within North America) isn't a big factor. We'd just drive up in mine, then drive 'em both back!

There's a 300C SRT8 on the ground at the dealership where I'm picking mine up. $47k with everything but rear DVD...sounds reasonably close to MSRP.

jjs,

kicker is not the rear DVD. Read what he said. He said no rear DVD. He didn't say no kicker. Clear?
