Pics Of Coated Kooks Headers

We're supposed to get some snow here this weekend so I brought a set of coated Kooks long tubes home to install on my SRT-8. Here are a few pics before they go on -

They almost look to nice to put on the car!

Do the long tubes need any other work done to install or are they pretty much a bolt on.

Yes, the rest of the exhaust will be staying stock. Your probably thinking "hey, the performance parts guy isn't changing his catback!" I drive alot of vehicles that have an aggressive sound so it's nice to get into something that is fast but doesn't make much noise once in awhile. My SRT-8 is that car. It will be nice to knock off some low 12 second ETs. Ok, who I am kidding... an 11.99 in a big 4 door sedan and cruise back in comfort.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how much does it costs to get long tube headers installed?...I'm not confident enough to do it myself.

hp gain will be small

there's just not a lot of HP on the exhaust side of these motors (6.1). Factory exhaust is the most sophisticated stock setup ever seen on a real production car. That comment was from a 30 year exhaust specialist who has seen these systems and modified many of them. Hey, 2-7/8 pipe is huge for a motor this size!

Those headers are beautiful, and will be good for some small MPG, throttle response, fatten up the midrange, etc. Look cool too.

Bless you for keeping it QUIET! No reason for more noise. Just another opinion. I love this country!
