Went To Drag Strip W/ Srt8 Jeep

HEY GUYS

i went to atco with some friends sat. .. it was opening day

only about 30 cars there......nice

a friend of mine had a new trailblazer ss and he had 2 others there with him

so i start talking smack about the jeep my other friend just got

long story short i called my buddy up with the jeep and told him some SS'S want a piece of his jeep and told him he had to come to atco....lol

2 out of the 3 trail blazers were moded with tuning and cold air intakes lower thermostats shift points changed and torque management removed
1 was 2 wheel drive his best was 13.49
1 was 4 wheel drive his best was 13.6x

my friend shows up with the jeep right of the street
no cool down "which the srt8 loves to run cool"and bone stock with less than 1000 mile on it

runs consistant 13.2.s all day

with cool down.... intake temps at 150 degrees and a cooler day....it was 55 dregrees here sat
this jeep will run 12.9s

needless to say srt8s get respect!!

and btw i was running 12.6 @ 111 mph with my 300 srt8

had a fun day with all the guys they were all cool and had nothing but cool things to say about the srt8s

I was chatting with the SS guy over at srt8 owners club.com and he also gave the run down. He has a video of it as well. I hope to meet up with you at some point at Atco this year.

Here is the video from srt8ownersclub.com

That's pretty impressive considering it's heavier than an CSRT-8....Imagine what a CSRT will do with the same gear ratio .... (and drag radials of course, at least.)

While its impressive, I think thats about where its going to top out, I imagine 12.99 will be the best these achieve, stock. Only AWD and the gearing allow these numbers. I dont think the gains that the LX SRTs saw over mag times is going to happen for this variant.

the gear ratios aren't what's helping the jeep....

Doc? How can they not be? Thats not all, the AWD has a part, but the gearing does help.
