How good is the base Boston Acoustics stereo system in the SRT-8?

How good is the base Boston Acoustics sound system in the 300C SRT-8? I'm not trying to start a war. I have the BA7 Boston Acoustics system in my 300C and it's pretty good but it's a seven speaker system with a 100 watt sub. Before I start my new search for an SRT-8 I wanted to do some research. The base in the SRT-8 is the BA6 and I'm just asking guys who have the system if they are satisfied with it. Thanks....

Get the kicker system. Or even better get the base B6 and go aftermarket.

BA6 doesn't have enough power.

It's a good system for someone who enjoys music but doesn't get into having a wicked system. If you have one with a 100 watt sub, you won't like it.

I think it's pretty good considering it's a car stereo. It's much better than the Bose in my wife's Benz, though that isn't saying much. The midrange sounds natural and the treble doesn't hurt my ears.

I usually listen to classical music and am very demanding in terms of my home stereo (tube line-stage volume control, active studio monitor speakers.) For a car system, I am pleasantly surprised with the BA6.

not so fast.............

i got mine with the BA6 because i was going to go aftermarket, but i gotta be honest when i tell you it's not a bad system at all.........i was very suprised. If you listen to Hip-hop and need tons of bass and moving air, don't waste your time. But if you listen to music at reasonable levels, I find it to be a very musical system, that can still get pretty loud....

My wife just got into her second Acura MDX, with a Bose system with a sub and the BA6 is a much better system.......wife even thought so.....and with those 6x9 bass drivers in the doors, I find that I have to keep the bass eq at about 5..........

I make and produce music professionally so listening to monitors is part of my job........I'll still go aftermarket, but because the BA6 was such a suprise I'm putting in all Boston Acoustic components when i do replace the system....

is it a Lexus Mark Levinson.......no, but it's still a very good 6 speaker set-up

I think the BA6 system is surprisingly good. When my buddy and i crusing around in his(Gawenda31) and when have it up half way, its shaking the side mirrors to where you can almost not see in them, and we have done it 3/4 and it sounds real good, you can really feel the bass.....

Cool

It's Funny You Bring This Up....

...because, at this time I am in the process of upgrading my stock BA6 System, with the help of some people from Boston Acoustics. I'm an Audio Rep with over 2 decades of time in the Industry, and, I've made more than my fair share of contacts.

I can't give you the details at present, but, the resulting system will be a sensible mix of factory plus aftermarket BA equipment which will look bone stock.

Hopefully, I'll have it all installed by April 5th, when I show up at Lime Rock for the SRT Track Day.

Stay Tuned...

the aftermarket BA components are hard to beat......I've had everything from Polk to MB Quart and JL audio, and the Boston Acoustics are my favorite..........

Faaaantastic! Keep me posted on your mods and I may end up modding my BA6 audio setup after all! By the way guys my home monitors are two Genelec 1031A's. They do what I need in my modest sized house. If I had a huge listening room I would get a sub but there's nowhere to hide it right now.
