Ain't America great?
Now if we could only revise our driving & licensing systems (a la Germany).

That is a sweet looking ride ...

I love these things ... I can't wait to get my hands on an SRT-8 ...

Does anyone have any "solid" info if they'll be available in AWD or not?

I'll still buy it in RWD, but for me, and where I live, AWD would be even more awesome ...

My thoughts exactly I just love the chrome, for the time being the chrome sets it apart from other 300's just my .02. But the SRT-8 is SWEEET Looking. Thanks for the pics E55 Kev

All the "more" to whip BMW-butt.
War is hell in the car business too I guess.

Although I am not a fan with the lack of asthetic changes, I think I am going be more than pleased with the performance ones. I really want this car when it comes out (not that I am not loving my C at the moment), but evertime I think 6.1L no MDS and gas prices I die a little knowing it just isn't practical for me to get one.

Hey Gang,

The new SRT-8 Looks awesome. Has anyone heard anything on gas mileage estimates. I read something yesterday that stated 14/19. Thanks.

Yeah, in real the real world you will get 9/14.

Also expect a gas guzzler tax around $2k!

Chrysler had a display at the Dream Cruise and one of the represenatives for Chrysler said the base price would around the $50,000 price. It is a nice car but I don't understand one thing. They said the new SRT-8 will run the 1/4 mile in the upper 13's. Didn't the rag magazines test the 300C around 13.9-14.4 in the 1/4 mile? Not much improvement for that kind of money. I would get a 300C and do some mods that will make it run better than the SRT-8.

Not to be a jerk.... but what mods? Filter and exhaust? That will hardly get you to 425 hp that the 8 will have. Currently nothing else you can do to get even close to 425hp so the options are not there. Superchargers are non existant as the MDS spoils everything. Its not like an LS2 motor inside a GTO that you can drop off at Lingenfelter and $20k later you receive your 600hp beast. These cars are sedans, not sports cars or even sports sedans. That's why I think the "aftermarket" parts will be very limited compared to other cars. This is also the reason for the SRT-8. A sport sedan version (tighter suspension, more hp, sportier interior, etc..).

As far as the numbers...they're just that. Estimates. Chrysler is under rating just a bit, nothing wrong with that. Nothing will kill sales more than promises that are not there. Reports already state that the tester mags will probably get it into the 4's to 60mph which sounds about right. Actually, it should be pretty close to the CTS-V performance, maybe slightly less due to weight of the car and an auto vs. stick. I would guess 13.5 @ 105mph would not be out of the question with a couple of magazine ringers possibly coming in at 13.1 ish. If Chrysler threw these numbers out at the press release and they didn't even get close there would be some serious problems with sales, because most people are buying this car for the 425hp. But numbers are just that...numbers on paper. What really counts is the grin on your face when you spank that pimply face teenager in his hot rod mustang.

I'm skeptical about the $50k price tag as the estimates to date aren't even close to that number. Chrysler won't be selling that many if it's $50k+.
