time slips -- 12.74

hey y'all, i went out to Etown this weekend to have some fun and bechmark a bit before a few mods. i was also trying to test out the escort G timer i just got but was unable to muster the concentration needed to press and hold a button while the yellow lights are dropping.

anyhow, i am pretty happy with the times, the car is completely stock with 7000 miles. i had pulled a 12.73 in november but that was at ATCO, and i heard from a guy that underneath the far end of the track there, is a large iron deposit that acts as a natural magnet and it actually pulls your car and helps times there, so i was happy to mach and substantiate the numbers

i plan on adding magnaflow cat back and hi flow cats plus CAI within the next few weeks.

ps. anybody put 275s on the back? i'm goin bald back there!

philly - Great times, especially your 60 footers! Is your SRT bone stock? Which tires do you have on her? Did you warm them up a bit? Air pressure? How did you launch?

Those are incredible times. Especially when you consider your runs were 6 minutes apart. Obviously no heat soak issues for you and an empty track to boot. I'm interested in hearing your launch technique as well.

Philly,

Great times man, and sound you had a blast too!
Be sure to post back after you go with the CAI and Maggie's w/the 3" High-Flows. Those are my next mods as well, along with the GSM chip (weather really warming up around here, been runnin 225 deg. area), hopefully soon!

I'll be getting some track numbers soon as well, now that the track is open again. (works been hectic)\\

The short times are unreal--3 tenths better than my best 330', but not even a full tenth under my 60'. Wow--I wonder how *your* trans shifts. I'm thinking "much better than mine"

thanks y'all my car is bone stock. i put in some SRT8 floormats and a nice installed radar laser deal which shall remain nameless lest i have to hear how spectacular a valentine is again.

i have the eagle F1s and was running 25psi. i went around the water box each time but did a nice burnout. launch technique was- wait till the last yellow one and drop the hammer, i didnt try to power brake or rev whatsoever. just left foot up and right one down.

i actually started out with some 12.9s and a 13.0, i was tryna let it cool down a bit but then yer in line getting up to the line and it gets right back to 203.

my best run was after sitting for one hour after they had to shut it down and clean up after some dudes motor blew. they were supposed to close at 3 but they still had gamblers lined up, so me and a few others stuck it out too. when they opened the track we let the gamblers go and went right to the line. i probably got there with engine temp 170 or so and was around quick enough to run thru again before it got heated all the way.

yeah i think my car shifts just fine- sept 05 build. i would get the gsm torque/fan but i dont think its gonna improve my shifts and i think there maybe could be a better fan mod (both fans kickin - fans running with motor shut off) so i will wait for now and see what comes down the pipe - but then again, a nice day at the track... a thin crowd and my engine temp stays around 185, is this a reality with the gsm mod?
