Mopar CAI

Anyone find a source cheaper than $302 delivered? Also thinking of making my own for under $150.

I assume you're talking about the older, 5.7 version that I, and many others, put on our 6.1s.

Yes! I beat that. I believe I was around $279.00 delivered but I am old and have no memory left.

Now if you're talking about the new 6.1 edition. No. If you find one (actually, if you can find one at all, from what I am hearing) for under $400.00 you're doing well.

I did. Then again! I may have paid too much!

Has anyone else bought the new model?

If so. For under $380.00?
KK

PS: I am selling my 5.7 system and I'll beat that price by a bunch if interested. The filter needs it's first service though. I see you're in VA. I would rather deliver it on the 25th in Irvine to someone but I will put it in the box that the new 6.1 model came out of and ship it UPS if noone else steps up. How about $150.00? You pay the USP?

PSS: Sorry if offering this for sale on this thread broke a rule!

https://order.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bi...ap8MIUKRNvUAk-

Wyckoff list theirs as "300C SRT-8 Models w/ 6.1L HEMI (P4510947)". With the 5% off for a previous purchase my cost is $302. I found one on ebay for $305. I thought maybe someone else had a source. I guess not.

That's a great deal but not the MOPAR CAI, as you refered to in your thead title. That is the K&N system that was made for the 5.7, but will fit the 6.1, just like the older MOPAR product that I refered to. (see the drop-down menu on the web page you supplied on the K&N)

The K&N is a great product but I thought we were talking about the MOPAR unit.

Just so there is no further confusion (especially on my part) about my price comparison. Here is the Part Number for the newest, 6.1, specific, CAI from MOPAR.

P4510947

Thanks for your input though as many prefer the K&N product.

SoCal,
Bought most of my stuff there however when I go to your link that part is not there and when I copy and paste the part number in their seach engine it comes up blank. I didn't call Scott on this part and I hate their web site because of the problem I just had, and have had many times, when looking for something. However, if you call them you will not find a bunch of nicer guys or better pricing and I do not doubt that I paid a premium here locally! (Duh! Hard to believe ain't it? A d0wn payment on a house here buys a mansion where www.moparsupercenter.com is located!)

Thanks for rubbing my face in it though! (LOL!)

Mopar Super Center was great getting me mine. They had a group buy going on about a month back & I jumped in on it then. I'd highly recommend them - mine was on backorder when I made the initial purchase but recieved it not even 2 weeks later. Couldn't be happier with it either.

My small local dealer gives a 20% discount on over-the-counter parts for customers who bought the car at their dealership, including Mopar catalog. I'm waiting to see if Mopar adopts the Corsa system into their catalog (I heard some distant rumblings that they may-remember SRT engineering put a set on the Charger that Gilles drove in the Newfoundland Rally) and will get the CAI at that time, with both expected at 20% discount.

It has a larger intake tube and filter. I have not had time to switch them out yet so I really can't give you much imput on anything else. Looked at the instructions and it looked about the same.

When I get the car back from the body shop and get the thing installed I'll try to pot more. Sometime before the BIG MEET on the 25th for sure!

Maybe someone else has more info out there.
