Adjustable Pedals

Yesterday after the wife got out of the car I forgot she had moved the pedals, so while driving I tried to move them, and they moved and actually slowed and accelerated the car while I was moving them back and forth. While I thought this was a cool feature I can accelerate and decelerate from my seat, it could also pose a hazard if you are moving them and you accidently accelerate while moving the pedals. Yes this can be rectified with one thing, Don't move them while in motion as it goes down with one of those you shouldn't adjust the steering while in motion. Should they have prevented drivers from adjusting pedals while in motion

IF you had your foot on the pedal at a constant position, maitaining speed, and move the pedals then I can understand how that would accel (pedals moving toward the seat, effectively increasing pedal % vs. foot position) or slow (pedals moving toward the firewall, effectively decreasing pedal %) with such action. If you had your foot OFF the pedal, then I don't understand why pedal position would have any effect on vehicle speed.

I do find it curious that DCX disables the change for position from 1 to 2 when in motion (actually it depends upon seatbelt connection as well), and doesn't disable any individual seat control movement.

You must have had your foot on the pedal when you were adjusting them

Yes I've done that and it's sort of fun!

What do you mean, disabling the change for position from 1 to 2?

I can move my pedals while driving, unless I have the cruise control enabled. That's why they have this disabling feature on the cruise control stalk I guess: if you disable it, you can adjust the pedals while driving. I guess the idea is that while you have cruise on you are not paying attention to your feet and if you move the pedals toward you, your foot could (without your noticing it) push on the gas or brake.

I'm 6'4" and the wife is 5'4", so our two different memory positions are quire different. I can hardly get into the seat if she leaves it in her position... so if I'm driving and I make a slight adjustment to the seats lift or back angle, I know I can adjust each of these things (but I hadn't tried the pedals), etc. I also know I can save the new position to my memory slot (#1 in the H.E., but #2 in the Blue).

However, in either car if I accidently (or purposely) push the wife's memory position button while I'm buckled up (and I don't think it matters if I'm in motion because it's happened while still in the garage), I get a chime and an EVIC message indicating I can't change memory positions while seat belt is buckled.

THAT's what I mean... LOL

Ah yes you and your wife are both using the HE as much as possible -- I forgot, in the HE they are not really "your" pedals. My wife always drives the SUV except for when we took a short family trip in the new Chrysler.

I understand now and I understand why Chrysler did it ... would you want the seat to start adjusting 3 different ways at once, the steering wheel, pedals and mirrors all to start crunching you into your wife's seating position all at the same time while you're in traffic? Ouch!

Yes they are MY pedals! At least that's what I keep telling her!

I know about the scrunching feeling 'cause I've accidently hit her position button sometimes while sitting there in the garage before starting up the blue beast... or the red.

I have to take this opportunity to say I have the most amazing wife. She knows how to put down the seat and not rant about it, and that's not the only great thing about her!

For those not so lucky but with at least 2 bathrooms, one should be able to have one bathroom with the seat up and one with it down. But like GoofyTimL's pedals, it doesn't work that way ...

no i dont think they have to prevent you from that . i guess u are more than 6 years old and if u ve managed to earn on that car u have enough brains to understand the common sence things like if u push the pedal and put it closer its gona remain under ur leg.
