Trade in deal on my loaded '06 srt-8...

...with 1800 miles on an '05 black viper srt-10 conv. with 4 miles never titled? Anyone know what a good deal would be for my car + cash for the new 1 yr. old viper? Msrp Sticker with gg tax on the '05 viper is 85k! They offered me a pretty good deal I believe, but I want to ask everyone what they thought first?! Obviously they're 2 different kinds of cars, but the deal sounded pretty good,...and I need everyones help and input! Thanks guys and gals! Happens everytime I nose around a new car dealership,..temptation for more speed and sportiness!!

Your best bet is to look at Ebay prices. I hear Vipers at invoice have been common since the new Z06 came out.

About a year ago, Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho had 6 or 7 brand new 2005 Vipers for $1000 under invoice which put them somewhere in the $71k range if I remember correctly. Might be even better deal now that the Z06 is out.

Be careful doing a trade in plus cash. Best way to to something like this is to separate the transactions. The dealer will attempt to take advantage either (a)on the purchase of the SRT8 or (b) the sale of the Viper. It's best to split the transacions and negotiate separately to insure best deal on both sides.

I am interested in selling my 05 300C for a new SRT8, and the dealer didn't know who he was dealing with, attempting to offer $27k for a near showroom 300C with $9k miles on it.

If you let your emotions take over (want the Viper badly) they will hose you.

Am I the only one wondering why you would do this? Maybe I just don't get Vipers...they don't do anything for me.

I would think you could get a deal on a one year old. You're going to have to play major hardball. You've got the upper hand, and your going to have to teach them that.

I like the idea of ebay and see what your vehicle is going for in your area.

Good luck...and I want a ride some day...lol.

I was wondering the same thing; I have to say I have never driven a Viper so I'm going by what others say - - but guys I know who have driven both Vipers and Corvettes ( normal C6 not Z06's) say the Vette is twice the car in every respect except raw horsepower, for less money. (And these were Mopar guys saying this mind you....)
