Is it just me or are these dyno #'s low?

Went to a dyno event this weekend. Here's my cars best run of 3, 3rd gear pull:

I think the guy said these #'s are "SAE corrected" or whatever. The weird thing is it seemed like everyones car was putting down a lot less power than it should have. Here's a few other cars that dyno'd:

'02 Mini Cooper S - stock - 140whp (guy said it should have been around 165whp)
Scion TC - TRD Supercharger kit - 180whp (girl said it should have been around 200-210whp)
'05 SRT-4 - bolt ons - 248whp/328 neck snapping torque
'97? Cobra - supercharged - 360whp with a 14.0 A/F ratio (this guy thought he would be in the mid 400whp range and wanted to run me)

BTW, I raced a silver '03 Cobra from a stop last night and steadily pulled away from him by about 4 cars up to about 100-120mph

Dyno's vary so much as to not be a useful tool comparing cars. If you use the same dyno as a "before and after" for your mod's then you have an apples to apples comparison.

I'd say that's about right on target. Has anyone tried a Mustang Dyno yet ?Their supposed to be more accurate.

you may want to try 4th gear.......one other forum member tried a 3rd pull and got some wierd results(although his was WAY high)......

6.1's have dyno'd anywhere from 345-370, so you're pretty much in the zone anyway..........and they can vary dep. on the temp, altitude and the type of dyno........

In Arizona, I know of 2 stock SRT-8's that where 345 and 347RWHP. AZ usually is down some from other parts of the country, due to bad air and 91 octane. 10 to 20 HP.
I didn't dyno mine stock, due to being shown 2 Dyno sheets. I will be getting mine done in the next week, and figure to be 375 to 395.

Everyone,
FYI
if you want to run or have your car run accurately on a dyno...
have them use 4th gear...
per btlfed1500 at Magnaflow...
he gave some exact and sound reasoning for this somewhere in the performence section in the last 3-4 months...
Sincerely,

They were going to run it in 4th gear but I remembered that the car tops out in 4th, I wasn't sure if it was safe to have the car going 180mph on there so I told them to use 3rd. Also, I forgot to tell them to turn the ESP off, would that have made any kind of difference?

How can it be accurate in any other gear than 4th? I thought a 1.0 ratio was required for accurate results. At least that's the gear I've always used for dyno runs.

correct.....
4th is a 1.0 ratio....

anyone who has dyno'd in third gets some pretty screwy results...

I believe third is 1.4:1

I've heard that there's a 4 - 5% difference in the #'s between the 1:1 gear and the gear below it.
