Shameless show off story

Yes this is a shameless show off story. Stop now and you don't have to know!

My son works near my home at a small custom car parts manufacturer. It has about 6 or 8 employees and they are all car folks. Most of them are too young to know better and my son has been feeling a little downtrodden that no one knows what the heck an SRT8 even is. One kid has a VR6 VW and claims he can whip me anytime he wants! (I don't do Vee Dubs)

I stopped by the other Saturday to see my boy since he doesn't live at home any more, and the talk began as soon as I pulled up. "Those are sure a pretty car, but kinda heavy to be very quick" was a typical comment. When I was leaving I assured my son I would show them a little something.

From a 10 MPH roll I gunned it and it wailed, hit the rev limiter 5 (that's right - 5) times searching for traction and ROARED away at warp speed, executing a perfect 6000 plus RPM shift into second! I could see the light blue haze in my rear view mirrors as I slowed down for the brief ride home.

When I got there my son had already left me a message. He said the VW kid isn't talking much any more.

Wonder what got into him?

I hereby dub thee the coolest dad in the kingdom! Good show. New found credibility for your son, silence and stupor from his friends which at this moment are all talking about the incredible unimaginable brute of a car his dad has.
