Angry SRT-* Rack & Pinion

I was wondering If anyone has had to have the rack & Pinion replaced. My car had a noise ever since I left the dealership. I thought it was the struts, but now they confirmed that I have to have the R & P replaced and the part is on back order in detroit. Any insight?

You're not the first to have this happen. Various models have had R & P problems. Here's just one of a few threads:
Replace Rack and pinion Steering

Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

So how many miles do you have on your car? Like you just got the car? Sorry, I’ve not had any such trouble either with my previous 5.7 with 28k or my 6.1 with 6k.

12k

I drive long distances to work, but are purely highway miles. I've had the noise since I purchased the car in Oct 2005, but never had the chance to go back to the dealership. I am finally awaiting the part from Detroit which is on back order.

So you think it was broken when you got the car? That’s a shame. Hope it gets fixed quickly for you.
