SRT-8 vs Audi S4 DFW/George Bush 11:45AM

OK first real street fight I been in for a while. I saw the the car hauling butt in my rear view and decided to chill out rather the take the lead (still unsure just how fast the srt8 is) I notice the flared fender and wide tires. then as he passed in front of me I noticed the aftermarket exhaust and big red brakes he had. of course the S4 badging.

He knew it was on and I could tell by his looking the review at me. BAM it was on. at a 60 punch I had to hold back on the throttle (traffic you know) but as we got faster I needed all I could muster to stay dead even with him (turbo motor I suspect). I also blew shifts UGH leave it in drive dummy! The power the srt serves up is so linear you cant tell when its time to shift by any drop off in power!

We finally got a break in traffic and a sweeping clear spot nice long right hand sweeper. i looked just once at my speedo and it was 155+ and climbing fast (sort of a down hill sweeper) I pushed the inside line at that speed! OMG! my shorts were riding high. But she held and held fast as we exited the sweeper the speedo was 170 and the Audi ran in to traffic as did I.

Let me say this about our brakes THEY ROCK! I had to slam on brakes at that speed my body was off the seat pinned against the harness and near negative G's Not one bit of fade/not even a hint.

Viola we are 70 the audi driver is giving me a big thumbs up, I am changin my diaper/.......

Did I win? now way to tell
Did it look like a won? Yup holeshot sweepers and inside track made it look as though I hit the nitrous.
Was his Audi fast? OH HELL YES....Whats in an Audi S4!

Oh I looked damn cool: QUicksilver shades/Sunroof open and tunes cranked/ Windows up/AC on/full tank of petrol.
Did the need for 110% driving scare me? Nope made me respect what the srt could do.
Nuts for doing this on a major highway? YUP crazy as hell

This is according to Audi:
Maximum speed electronically limited to 155 mph in the U.S. Obey all speed and traffic laws.
He must have been running nos or something to let him break the 155 limit

Most definately a S4...not RS4...

If he had nitrous that would still not let him get past the 155 limit and all the car is pull timing to not let you go faster than that...the Nitrous would just help him get there faster.....It was most likely bone stock...they are fast stock as well....just a bit slower than an M3...they trap about 105mph...where as we trap about 106-109mph...

I thought speed limiters killed fuel injection, didn't know they killed timing. If it killed injection then he could've easily kept going on pure nos.
Why do you say it was bone stock if it passed it's electronically controlled speed?
I'm still waiting to run into an RS4...

INteresting to learn of your opponent. I can say because of traffic he was limited to 155+ this maybe why he appeared to have hit the brakes while i took the inside line.

Under the small bridges the noise the Hemi makes is more invigorating then viagra!

Jackal had i not missed shifts and traffic was clearer I am certain I could have beat him but i wason and off the throttle and brake until we hit the long sweeper.....I spent atleast 2-4 seconds with the hemi beating the crap out of the rev limiter until noticed NO MORE GO tell I shifted

I have no doubt you could've easily gotten lengths on him... Next time. I have my doubts about the beating the RS4 but the numbers are close enough to make me want to find one and see for myself.
I read that the upcoming tsb for the 1-2 lag shift for the 6.1 will also make the autostick shift at 6k. So you wont have to worry about forgetting to shift. I think I read it here, but can't remember...

They dont just kill the injectors...the computer would freak out because the car would go dangerously lean....they kill timing, slow fuel, and close out throttle butterflies...

I don't know the specifics, but my 96 mustang gt is supposedly governed at 136. I've gotten up past the odometer reading of 155 running a hundred shot of zex nos, dynomax exhaust, and a K&N, whereas before the nos it seemed I topped out at around 140. Just speaking from my experience, don't know about newer cars with newer ecms and what would actually happen. Not saying you're wrong, just saying what has happened to me.
