SRT8's are rare in these parts.

danno's last thread got me thinking. I have had my 8 for a little over two months and the only other one I have seen on the road was a Maggie on I-75 in Pontiac. Are they really that rare or do I live that far North of Nowhere?

When I saw the Maggie I was in the wifes Cooper. I love driving it but what a let down!

Who has seen other 8's and how many? Where?

Well according to Resume Speed’s “Where Have They Gone Thread” Michigan has 272 300C SRT8’s (As of March’s update) Michigan is a pretty big state and I’m sure there are a few more than 272, so the chances of running into one is still fairly remote. Florida has the second largest amount (623) behind CA (1106). Granted these numbers are from March, but still when you think of how many other cars are out there they still seem to be pretty rare. As I said I hadn’t seen one until this past weekend. So I think we’re still pretty special.

Your right I don't see that many too. A LOT of 300's, C's, Magnums and Chargers. I see a lot on trailer's going to the states.

They are still VERY VERY rare in my area, and I'm in the major metropolitan Chicago.

I have seen 2 charger SRT-8's. 3 300 SRT-8's, and 3 Maggie SRT-8's.

That doesn't count what I've seen on dealer lots which are about equal!!!!

I agree they seem to be rare. I know I have the only 05 in London, (population ~350,000) and I also know there are exactly four 06's here (2 silver, 2 black). I've only seen each one once or twice though. I know which ones are which based on the filthyness level and what the owners look like. NONE of the other ones are kept clean or looked after. The paint on all of them is marred from regular automatic car washes and the black ones look really bad from the swirl marks. I've talked to 2 owners and they seem to have little to no entheusiasm (sp?) for what they have and even less interest for joining a forum like this. I just do my own thing and I know for sure my car will far outlast theirs and look better doing it. Some people don't deserve what they have.

Isn't that sad Bernie? I mean, why would you buy an SRT-8 moniker car if you weren't an enthusiast?!!

It goes beyong logic to me, because if money was no factor and you were talked into an SRt-8 over a C from a dealer salesman, why wouldn't you just buy an $80k Merc?????

Whatever, to each their own.....We know we have something special and those douche bags can kiss my sack!

How can they treat their beautiful cars like that? What a shame. I can’t fathom not taking care of something this beautiful or for that fact even if it were ugly I would still take care of it. It’s just a mode of transportation to them......obviously nothing special.

VVV our posts are way too similar.....I swear I didn't see your post until after I posted mine.

My neighbors think I am nuts:

"You take your wheels off when you wash your car?"

"Not every time."

I've seen 3 or 4 CSRTs in Vancouver, Canada. Never seen Magnum or Charger SRT tho. I wonder if there are any in the city yet.

Very rare here in MD too.

I have seen 4 300C SRTs. I have not seen any SRT8 Magnums or Chargers. I can't go anywhere without seeing lots of 'regular' 300Cs though. I probably see on average 5 every day. They are very popular Just the other day when I went for a 3 mile jog I saw 4 300Cs!
