Yes, HEMI is the best

I was pulling into my apartment here in jaded, car-crazy, so-cal, and a truck piled high with carpets was blocking the entrance to my garage. I politely tooted my horn twice to get the driver's attention so he would pull forward.

The carpet installer came out and saw Maggie pulled behind his truck gleaming in all her glory. This Hispanic gentleman spoke very broken English but was awestruck by the car. He exclaimed "Is that the one with the HEMI?" I said yes it was and asked if he would like to see the motor. He was thrilled so I popped the hood. "Oh, 6.1 liters! Hemi motor is the BEST motor!" he exclaimed. Apparently he has a cousin who also has a hemi. He saw the 20" wheels and asked if those were aftermarket. I said no - it comes this way from the factory. He then asked, "Just touch the pedal and it goes very fast?" I had to agree, this is a very fast car. He happily pulled his truck forward for me.

It's just awfully nice to come home from an exhausting day at work and have a nice car encounter.

Nice story Scott. You certainly don’t mind talking about these beauties with people that have an appreciation of their awesomeness. The “super hemi” always sends them for a loop! Usually followed by a “HOLY SHIIT”!!

Great story

It's always great to run into people who just appreciate a good machine, and don't mind saying so.

I agree. It's always a nice surprise when people actually know the difference between an 8 and a 6. Even nicer when an owner of said car takes the time to show it off. Good job!
