Day 51...

nothing new from last week...
imagine that...
I am in complete disbelief...
the windshield is still not "in"...
the one that is sitting in the 300C limited that was in a crash that I told them to go ahead and put in my car so we can get it done - (last week's conversation on Day 47) sits in the limited still...
I went immediately to the customer service manager...
gave her a list of things that need to happen to the car before I will even accept it...

and another list of items to make things "right"
1. full tank of gas...
2. car completely detailed inside and out... as it has been "open" to the elements for 51 days...
3. waxed...
4. my rear window tinted (as it is clear glass right now)
5. and this month's car payment...

anything else you would ask for?

Thanks everyone!
Sincerely,

Can you take it to a different body shop that actually wants and/or needs your business? If I remember correctly your car was "sandblasted" out in the desert, not rolled 12 times......What in the world is the problem?

You should post the name of the shop it's at so nobody else in the San Diego area takes their car there.......

WOW........

Hey Kevin,
the car sits at Rancho Auto Group's, 5-star, Corporate owned, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep body shop...
the check has been cut by the insurance carrier and paid to the dealership over 4 weeks ago...
my rental car is being picked up by the dealership - kudos to them for that...
so pulling it out and moving elsewhere will not solve the problem of acquiring the part...
a Chrysler windshield with the Chysler logo on it...
that is what we are waiting for...
and I will NEVER EVER recommend this body shop for anything...
as there are numerous paint flaws that I pointed out again (some for the 3rd and 4th time) to the body shop manager...
Thanks though!
Hope all finds you well in Idaho!
Chris

All I can say is "I feel your pain".

Satan sits in the front office at every dealership I have ever dealt with. It seems he runs yours too. The only reason I set foot in one is for Mopar parts and warranty work. And then only if it is too expensive to take the hit out of pocket. The blower motor resistor went bad on my last ride while still on warranty. I paid a independent that I trust to do it. I don't want those stealership hacks anywhere near my cars. I guess I said a little more.

Just the other day I took a stone on the glass. A small spider crack. My insurance company will pay for OEM glass but now I wonder how long I will have to wait. I will call in the AM and get the ball rolling. I'll let you know.

If they get the glass right away do you even want to know?

Chris, how can you maintain any shreds of sanity after all this? Props to you for still being able to function despite this horrendous treatment.

I would ask for one more thing (not on your list). A sincere, heartfelt apology from the service manager and her staff for all you have been put through.

Kind regards,

Howard (aka: The Hog / Hogward)

CB,
I can't even begin to feel your frustration. Enough is enough! Your insurance company should also be intervening on your behalf since they have paid the repair bill and services have not been completed to your satisfaction in a timely manner. I think most people will agree that they would prefer having their own car back over driving a rental.

Believe it or not, this repair shop has a valid license w/ the State of Ca. and no outstanding complaints!

Since you have exhausted all the various chains of command, I believe it's time to file a complaint with the BAR! (IMO)

Chris

Well that explains their lack of motivation; they've already been paid! And obviously you know that and it was out of your control. Why in the world would the insurance company pre-pay for something like this?

Is there a reason you are insisting on a Chrysler Windshield rather than a PPG or whatever from Speedy Auto Glass or similar? Just curious.

And yes all is FANTASTIC in Idaho - - high 80's to low 90's now and not a cloud in the sky. Spent all day Sunday on the lake sucking up $3.00 a gallon premium with my 454 powered jetboat. (this is gonna be an EXPENSIVE summer! - - but you only live once, right?)

Hope you get your car back soon Chris!
